O povo unido jamais será vencido.

For weeks, Newark and surrounding areas have been targeted by ICE detention enforcement. Hard working families are suddenly getting their wellbeing and stability pulled right under them.

Weekends are not the same in our community. Fewer people walk, fewer people shop, fewer people feel safe.

We said it one and said it twice we will not put up with ICE.

Join us on November 7th and walk in community as we march for justice in the Ironbound.

We demand ICE out of the Ironbound and out of New Jersey! by @newarklibraryworkers

Join unions and community members as we honor families separated by ICE. We stand in solidarity with the detained inside Delaney Hall.

FREE THEM ALL!!

Labor Eyes on ICE is an alliance of unions and community orgs at Delaney Hall.

Important announcement 📣

The presence of immigration enforcement has been confirmed in:
Long Branch, Morristown, Plainfield, Palisades Park, North Bergen, Fairview, Union City, Linden, and Trenton.

Please be careful when going out today, and if you do not have to drive, do not drive.

Remember: if you see immigration enforcement, call 888-347-3767.

If you are stopped: do not sign anything before consulting a lawyer, have a contact number memorized, and exercise your right to remain silent—anything you say can be used against you. by @newarklibraryworkers

Another month of protest at #DelaneyHall where we remember community members like Edwin Lopez-Cornejo and where we continue to fight for the living. If your union wants to join the picket next month sign up at bit.ly/leoi-endorse #FreeThemAll by @newarklibraryworkers

No more deaths, no detention centers.

This week the people’s vigil commemorated the life of Jose Efrain Chajon Paxon.

We demand an independent investigation into the events that lead to the loss of life of 3 people under ICE’s watch at Delaney Hall.

We demand the release of all detained people and the closure of all detention facilities. by @newarklibraryworkers

Attend your ward budget hearing and speak up for library funding.

Our libraries need building repairs, and our staff deserve a living wage.

We’re grateful for the City Council’s increased support in 2024.

Let’s keep investing in world-class libraries for our community!

Want to support your Newark library? Come out to the budget hearing in your ward and tell the City what your library means to you!

A 12 year old girl is without her father and the institutions responsible must brought to justice. A fundraiser is in the works for Edwin Jeovanny Lopez Cornejo and his family. Edwin was kidnapped in front of his home in June and was routinely denied his medication and medical attention until his death at Delaney Hall. His family, and the family of Jean Wilson Brutus deserve justice. Join a vigil tonight at 7:30 to show your respects. by @newarklibraryworkers

As we approach our next contract negotiation's it's Newark budget season again! Next Tuesday and Wednesday each department will present to the City Council.

Historically, public speakers are not allowed at these hearings however if you'd like to support the library you can wear a library shirt or bring a sign!

No date for the public hearing has been given where the public can speak, but judging by past years it will be late August / early September. Keep an eye out!
