If you‘re sourcing solar and energy storage products from China, here are a few trends worth watching.

At the PV Guangzhou 2026, we saw several technologies and product directions that are getting more attention in the Chinese market:

☀️ Next-generation high-efficiency solar cell technologies
Higher conversion efficiency continues to be a key focus as manufacturers look to improve PV performance.
🔋 Large-capacity energy storage batteries
As energy storage projects become larger, battery capacity and system efficiency are becoming increasingly important.
💧 Liquid-cooled energy storage systems
Thermal management is another area to watch, especially for larger-scale energy storage applications where heat control can affect system performance and safety.

We explored these developments while accompanying our Romanian clients at the exhibition, also discussing their specific purchasing requirements with suppliers on-site.

Sourcing from China is not just about finding the right supplier.

The real challenge starts when the order moves forward!

Specifications need to be confirmed.
Questions need to be answered clearly.
Production needs to be followed up.
Quality needs to be checked.
Different parties need to stay aligned.
And when something unexpected happens, someone needs to be there to deal with it.

This is where a reliable local partner matters.

Not simply to introduce you to a factory, but to stay close to the process — communicating with suppliers, coordinating different parties, following up on execution, and helping keep things moving.

Because when you’re thousands of miles away,
reliability, clear communication and smooth execution don‘t happen by themselves.

Sometimes, you need someone local to manage the process with you.

We then accompanied the client to selected factories to look at the products up close and discuss what could be adapted for their project.

One Trip, Multiple Factories: How Do You Compare Them?

When visiting several factories in China, the differences may seem obvious at first.

The quotations are different. The factory sizes are different. Each supplier also has its own way of presenting its strengths.

But after several visits, it can become difficult to compare them. One factory offers a better price, another has more production experience, while a third communicates more effectively.

The comparison should begin with your own order.

First, check whether the quotations are based on the same product specifications, materials, packaging and payment terms. A lower price may simply reflect a different standard.

Then consider how well each factory fits the project. A large factory may have strong production capacity, but its minimum order quantity, schedule or customization process may not suit your needs.

You should also look at how each supplier responds to specific questions. Can they explain how your order will be produced? Do they understand the standards required in your market? When a possible difficulty is raised, do they offer a practical solution or simply say, “No problem”?

And finally, think beyond the visit. Once you return home, you will still need to confirm samples, follow production, check quality and manage any changes that arise.

The real question is not which factory looks the best during the visit.

It is which one you can trust to complete your order.
