Turns out anonymous love letters are best written with an orchestra in the room. And just like that, my journey as Léontine comes to an end. 🥹 What a gift it has been to bring this beautiful woman to life. Through every rehearsal, challenge, lesson, and performance, she has taught me so much about love, grace, vulnerability, and myself. My heart is full of gratitude—for this cast, creative team, orchestra, and every person who came to share in our story. Thank you to everyone who supported, encouraged, prayed for, and shared this journey with me. What a beautiful ride. Until next time, Léontine. 💐❤️ 📸: @russrowland #ClosingNight #AnonymousLover #Leontine #Operasinger #GratefulHeart by @newcamerataopera

I’m tremendously grateful for the opportunity to sit with my brother and our amazing director, Brandon Shaw McKnight @bshawmcknight, for New Camerata Opera’s @newcamerataopera production of L’amant Anonyme as part of the series and Juneteenth celebration, Bringing Us Into The Light. During the interview and talk-back, we had the privilege of discussing one of opera’s great matriarchs, Leontyne Price, and reflecting on the power of dedication, artistry, and legacy. One of the greatest lessons that resonated with me is that when you work hard, remain true to your craft, and walk in your purpose, your work and legacy will always speak for you. 🔥🔥 Thankful for these conversations, this production, and the opportunity to continue growing as an artist and educator❤️✨ #BringingUsIntoTheLight #Juneteenth #NewCamerataOpera #LAmantAnonyme #OperaLife ArtistJourney LeontynePrice Gratitude Legacy BlackExcellence by @newcamerataopera

Before this evening’s performance of L’amant anonyme, join us at 6:30PM in the theater for Bring Us into the Light, a special Juneteenth pre-performance event featuring our director Brandon Shaw McKnight in conversation with featured artist Alexandria Crichlow. Together, they will reflect on the enduring impact of Black artists in classical music and discuss the vision for this production. Guests will have the opportunity to experience McKnight’s evolving installation, This Big Light of Ours. Then enjoy the legacy of Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, a composer, virtuoso, and one of the most remarkable Black artists of the 18th century with his only remaining opera, filled with elegant melodies and sparkling wit. by @newcamerataopera
