Blockading BAE systems in Washington, Sunderland on Armistice day. Never again means standing with our brothers and sisters in Palestine, Sudan, Yemen and Iraq and all oppressed peoples. Never again means standing up against the imperial zionist war machine.

BAE systems have worked with both Rafael and Elbit on the CV90 military vehicle equipped with Rafael's SPIKE missiles and Elbit's Iron fist to "neutralise threats". The Washington site has received hundreds of millions of pounds of funding from the UK Ministry of defence and this site is known for its production of artillery shells. F35 fighter jets are manufactured with BAE's support, such as the Blackburn site which makes the fuselage.
The UK arms industry is entirely complicit, with recent reports revealing that British munitions are arming the UAE who fund the RSF's slaughter of the people of Sudan.

Join us on a march for Palestine. On Saturday 3rd October.

We march to show we care.

We are sad and angry that israel is still killing lots of people in Palestine. This is called a genocide.

It started in 1948. And it has been really bad for three years. Israel is still attacking homes and hospitals.

In Newcastle there is a factory that makes equipment to kill people. It is called Rafael. It is owned by the Israeli government. We want to shut it down.

We say: stop killing people. Free Palestine!

Meet at St Thomas’ Church by Haymarket at 12pm. We start marching at 12:30pm. We will arrive at the Baltic Square at about 1pm. For a shorter walk meet at Newcastle City Marina at 12:45.

There are no steps on this march, so it is good for people who use a wheelchair.

There are toilets in the cafes and hotels along the Quayside. And at the Baltic Art Gallery. There is a changing place toilet at The Sage (Glasshouse), Gateshead.

There will be a Safer Space. Look for the DPAC sign. This is a bit quieter. It is for anyone who

needs a rest, families and disabled people. You can do crafts at the Safer Space.

The demo will be noisy. There will be speeches. There will be shouting. You can bring headphones.

The group is very friendly.

Be prepared for sunshine or rain. Bring water. Wear a mask if you like.

You can bring banners and flags. You can wear a kufeyah (scarf). And bring friends.

It will all finish by 2pm. You can leave anytime you like

If you want to walk back to your bus or train with other people, meet at the Safer Space at the end of the march.

UPDATE! Meeting point and march route now confirmed!

It’s as important as ever that we continue to express our solidarity for Palestine and show those in power that we have not forgotten the ongoing genocide being committed by ‘israel’.

📍 Assemble opposite Haymarket Metro from 12 noon.
🥾 We’ll march from 12.30, heading down to the Quayside and along to Baltic Square.
✊Shorter march meeting point is outside The Guildhall on the Quayside.
🇵🇸 Bring your banners, placards and flags
🔈 There’ll be speakers at Baltic Square from 1pm - you can also just head straight there.
🪁 A safer space with craft activities will be set up, suitable for children
✉️ we’ll also have letter writing actions you can do on the day.

Clare's reflections from our vigil on Saturday

'Five of us took part in our silent vigil today. The village was fairly quiet compared to recent weeks. I looked through the placards and the one that stood out for me was

‘Imagine if it was your child’

I felt this was a strong message and one that would resonate with anyone who had or cared for children. One of our group mentioned she takes two placards so they can be changed over. Great idea, so I also chose

‘Deeds not words, food and water’

‘Deeds not Words’ reminded me of the Suffragettes and ‘Food and water’, a basic human need being weaponised.

I was aware of two episodes of verbal abuse and was told there had been other incidents where people in cars had driven past us shaking their heads. At least they kept their opinion to themselves, sort of.

I often worry that people will bump their car when they take time to acknowledge us, be it positive or negative. I believe that we had many more positive than negative responses this morning. People sounded their car horns in support, thanked us for our presence, and stopped for a chat. Today was positive overall, time passed quickly. I didn't change my message.
