NEW DANCER ANNOUNCEMENT 🌟 Please join us in welcoming @edie_clarke for her first season with New Chamber Ballet! She will also make her premiere this weekend at @clarkart!

Originally from Coos Bay, Oregon, Edie Clarke began her dance training under the direction of Christine Rader at Pacific School of Dance. She pursued additional training at Eugene Ballet Academy and San Francisco Ballet School, and spent multiple summers working with Suzanne Farrell at the Kennedy Center. She continued her dance education at the University of Utah, where she earned a BFA in Ballet and a BS in Kinesiology in 2024. Her dance journey then brought her to Rhode Island, where she spent two seasons as a trainee with Ballet RI under the direction of Kathleen Breen Combes, working and performing with the company. by @newchamberballet

Arianna “Anna” Hughlett received her early training at Kansas City Ballet School and Kansas School of Classical Ballet. At 17, she joined Boston Ballet School as a Trainee and later completed their Graduate Program. She has performed with Boston Ballet, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Grand Rapids Ballet. Anna is also a choreographer who has created works for Boston Ballet II, Grand Rapids Ballet, The Hartt School, Azara Ballet, as well as for her ensemble Flux & Pointe, which she co-founded with artist Kelley Gant in Kansas City. by @newchamberballet

We are thrilled to announce the new artists joining New Chamber Ballet this season 🌟 First, meet @margaret.kingsbury! Margaret has been in the studio with us this past season as an understudy and we were thrilled to have her join as a full company dancer in June! She will make her NCB premiere this weekend at @clarkart!

Margaret Kingsbury is originally from Canton, Ohio, and began her training at the Canton Ballet, while also attending programs at the School of American Ballet, BalletX, and Carolina Ballet. Margaret received her BFA in Dance from Point Park University, where she performed in works by George Balanchine, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, and Bob Fosse; and has also performed with the Eglevsky Ballet. by @newchamberballet

This summer, New Chamber Ballet returns to the Clark Art Institute (@clarkart) with two new site-specific works created for the museum’s Ground/Work exhibition! 🌳🎷

Enchanted Forest and Forbidden Forest unfold throughout the Clark’s gardens, inviting audiences to move from sculpture to sculpture alongside the dancers and live musicians. With original scores by Jianing Song @_jianing_song_ and Yuqing Zhang @yqingerzhang, performed live by Amber Dai @amber.dai.music (French horn) and Stephen Tamas @stephentamas (Saxophone). 🎶

🌊 Ballet legend Robbie Fairchild (@robbiefairchild) sharing his first preview of a new pas de deux with Vincenzo DiPrimo.

🌊 Leggybones Physical Theater performing an athletic contemporary work in their signature witty style.

🌊 New Chamber Ballet (@newchamberballet) presenting the elegant and intimate "Mandragore," which was featured at last fall’s #HVDance.

🌊 Smuin Ballet (@smuinballet) delivering an excerpt from "The Singer and the Song," which marries classical ballet technique with the syncopation and theatricality of other dance forms.

Looking back over the many ballets @anabelalpert has performed here at NCB, “My favorite NCB ballet is Amity because of the variety within the ballet! The first section has a lot of energy, the second section has a tenderness and softness to it, and the finale section really ends with a bang! The music and costumes are also a big highlight for me.” 💛

When asked what her favorite NCB ballet has been, @meg_jane97 said “Secret Place has always stood out to me because it creates many opportunities to connect with the other dancers. There’s a strong feeling of togetherness that makes it so fun to perform. And in its most recent iteration, getting to finish the ballet off with Doori’s stunning playing of Chaconne is a joy - the music gives me chills every time.”
