Japan 2025, what a trip. So many photos to go through and edit, but for now a combination of 11 images blending focus and masking out people. Was way too popular of a location to really get right, I guess if I go back to this location I’ll try and go for sunrise instead of the night shot.

Had to use generative fill on the doors to the 7eleven because a couple stood there literally for 30 minutes going back and forth taking photos so I gave up. taken in Tokyo Tower by @newcombes_adventures

One year ago, I captured something I never would have thought possible. The story behind it truly isn’t anything spectacular from a composition or difficulty perspective, but rather chasing a gut feeling. However this story led to me capturing my favourite photo I’ve captured so far. One that got me my first AI accusations. by @newcombes_adventures

Hiking Tent Ridge didn’t go exactly as I had planned. Initially I had envisioned a photo of a jet flying over Spray Lakes Reservoir. The jets ended up flying way higher than I thought they would have and far away from Kananaskis itself, patrolling the air space boundaries rather than being close to Kananaskis itself. While I was kind of sad to not get the photo I had wanted, I ended up making the most of the day and finishing the vast majority of the hike I missed the first time. Absolutely beautiful hike, well worth it (though I think I skipped all the really hard stuff). Highly recommend, I’d you’re just going for the photo then send the North side, but it is a leg burner.

It’s definitely one of the more overdone shots in Toronto, but it really does sum up fall in the city. Crazy how fast some of the trees speed ran changing taken in HTO Park by @newcombes_adventures

I think my favourite session of the entire day was when @missjullyblack @sincerelytobi and Saukrates all got on to the stage at the same time. It’s hard to put into words, but seeing these three incredibly talented individuals interacting and building off one another in the performance on real time was special.

It was like they were floating around, knew exactly what the others would do at a given time. I’m sure the years of knowing each other and casually winning a Juno together last year helps 🔥🔥🔥

Overall what a special day, I’m so grateful I was able to be behind the scenes again. Meeting such cool, talented and interesting artists, having random deep conversations over food in the break room, and seeing what set the crew has devised are always the highlights of the day. The entire team is so talented and I really enjoy being able to capture snippets of it.

Meeting Saukrates was definitely a cool experience. Quick to throw out a quick bar based on what he heard in conversation, or drop an anchorman quote. Who did put the question mark on the teleprompter though?

This is the last of the solo sets, I think I was able to capture Saukrates quite well but honestly he truly shines in the next set 🫡 by @newcombes_adventures

To completely butcher the quote by @missjullyblack - looking effortless takes a lot of effort. That statement really stood out and put into perspective how much work she has done to effortlessly dance around the set. And she has a lot of fun with it too.

Edit got the quote wrong 🥲 it’s ease and easy are two different things, we make it look easy and we do that with a lot of ease. What it actually takes is a lot of work

She is legitimately such a shining star of a human, her laughter and energy was so infectious. She’s such a talented individual and I truly enjoyed taking photos of her behind the scenes. And man did the photos turn out, I’m really happy with them all. Such a privilege to be able to shoot BTS of these amazing artists and briefly get to know them taken in AstroLab Studios Inc. by @newcombes_adventures

If you ever get the privilege of having a conversation with @sincerelytobi , it will be a highlight of your week. It’s definitely hard to explain unless you’ve chatted with him, but the conversation flows so easily as if you’ve been friends for years.

This was the second time I’ve had the privilege of taking photos of him behind the scenes at the raptors shoot, and definitely am happy with the solo shots I got of him 🤘 by @newcombes_adventures

Big congratulations to @rochesterjuice for dropping the new album last night. Really looking forward to listening to it. Was so great to see him again and get to shoot him while he worked his magic.

Grateful for the opportunity to shoot BTS at the @sportsnet @raptors shoot. Always amazing to see what @dburns_dop @richard.liani and the whole crew capture. The set this year was insane, looking forward to seeing the final products taken in AstroLab Studios Inc. by @newcombes_adventures

For now going to keep telling myself it’s not goodbye, but rather it’s until next time. Got the chance to see the @cfsnowbirds last Canadian performance at the @aerogatineauottawa. I count myself incredibly fortunate to have seen that with my own eyes. Though the tutor chapter is almost over, the Siskin II chapter looks like it will be a great one to come. One last ride 🥲

Can you imagine watching the air show from the edge walk?

Honestly seeing the @cfsnowbirds for the last time in the tutors really made me emotional in ways I still am trying to process. Thank you to all of the technicians, pilots and other staff for putting on one hell of a last show in Toronto. I could probably attempt to write this caption for hours but I’ll let the photos hopefully convey some of the emotions I was feeling while editing this.

Also shoutout to whoever put Saviot into the song lineup, my favourite @riseagainst song that has so many good memories behind it. taken in Toronto, Ontario by @newcombes_adventures
