SHADOW GAMES. AWESOME DARIA. My producer was gone overnight. The deadlines stayed. A family situation in L.A. pulled him out of NYC while we were delivering multiple campaigns across Europe. Seventy-hour weeks became a hundred. Europe was six hours ahead. My working days kept running deep into the night. Then Candice stepped in. Marcus took over production. Newheart on styling. Kuki flew in from Spain. Around them, a crew who knew their craft and delivered. That’s when you find out who you’re working with. The wrong people can sink a shoot. Real professionals give you room to create, even when everything around you gets complicated. NYC. Paul’s rooftop. Daria. One raised hand. A shadow across her eyes. The photograph. And the people behind it. Thank you to everyone who made this happen. FANTASTIC YULIA, DANCING IN THE SKY. The skyline watches. The wind catches the dress. Yulia dances as if the roof belongs to her. Then a co-star enters the scene. One of Paul’s studio figures - and no, I’m not talking about the beautiful Yulia. Newheart’s extraordinary dress turns every movement into a frame from a lost Hollywood picture. Kuki’s make-up brings the close-up. Yulia brings the attitude. For a few electric moments above New York, a photoshoot becomes a happening. Big sky. Big movement. Pure cinema. FOR A SECOND, NEW YORK BELONGED TO HER. Two sailors crossing the street. Hailey between them. A passing gap in the city, just wide enough for a photograph. Her gaze holds the frame while everything around her is moving. You can almost hear the traffic. You wonder where she has been, who she might be waiting for, what happens next. That is what draws me to cinematic photography: a single image that feels like part of a much bigger story. Real people, out in the world. A glance, a little chance, and the instinct to press the shutter before the moment disappears. Swipe closer. The city falls away. Her gaze stays with you. New York City, with the wonderful Hailey Carlson. With thanks to the great team: Talent: Hailey Carlson @haileyscarlson @musemodelsnyc Executive Producer: Marcus Donates @marcusdonates NYC Production Company: HONCHO! @ihearthoncho German Production Company: Manon Lichtenberg @lichtenberggrayproductions Photo Assistant: Sherridon Poyer @sherridonp Styling: Newheart Z. WONDERFUL ALINA. New York. Paul’s rooftop. Black feathers. A killer look. And one of those crews where, when it works, it really works. Kuki on hair and make-up. Newheart on styling. Marcus and HONCHO! keeping the whole thing together. Aminah, Hector and Viktoriia making sure the day keeps moving. Maja watching everything nobody else is watching. And Alina? She just owns the frame. That’s the beauty of a day like this. You plan everything you can - and then New York gives you that little bit of chaos and magic you could never plan anyway. Three frames. One rooftop. One great team. And a city that always knows how to play along. Big thank you to everyone who made this happen.
