This grad is empathetic, kind, and caring yet quick to vilify himself with a comedic twist. His character arc is dynamic as he has grown and transformed notably. He has grown into a natural leader, both on the student council and in the way he can effortlessly guide a group with positivity and confidence. We will remember this grad as a deeply genuine young person who has the courage to speak the truth. He exudes a keen sense of fairness, cautiously speaking up for himself and defending others when he feels this is the right thing to do. We will remember his mischievous smile as he conjured pranks to play on his teachers, and his contagious laughter as he used a subtle hand gesture to hurl imaginary spiders at them. We watched this grad find themselves both as an inventor and also as a rock star guitarist who spent dozens of lunch hours strumming along to music with his peers. Congrats! We will remember this grad as a thoughtful, inquisitive, and knowledgeable young person, who always wants to do the right thing. They have a strong sense of social justice, and have shown us many times that they will speak up and advocate for voices that are not heard. Being thoughtful of others comes naturally to them. They have an outstanding depth of knowledge, whether it be about animals, fossils, politics or tornadoes. This graduate’s story is a heartfelt story that is filled with friendship, games and good food. A good friend to all, he demonstrates kindness, inclusivity and encouragement to those around him. Over his years at New Heights, we have learned a lot from him, especially about burgers and Mario characters. We hope that this grad will continue to share his expertise and recommendations about the best local burgers even after graduation. This grad’s story is definitely fashioned after Planes, Trains and Automobiles. His story though is more than a comedy. His version is a heart warming tale. It is based on his remarkable ability to connect with others through his mature and engaging conversations. His artistic talent is abundantly obvious both in the beauty of his photos, and the intricate details of his drawings. What many people see as an interest, this grad has already turned into a meaningful experience through his work with the streetcars at Heritage Park. As we reflect on this grad’s New Heights story, the pages would be filled with his many talents. Such as his impressive woodworking projects, his creative ideas on managing a fictional mineral at a global level, or calculating how to maximize his time efficiency, perhaps only to leave class a little early. He approaches the world with a mind that is both creative and intuitive. He has a way of thinking through problems and possibilities that may surprise people, until they get to know him for the incredible young man that he has become. This grad’s story is one of growth, whether it be his height, his hair, his knowledge or his skills. From Kidd to Copper, Cascade, Tower, Columbia and Norquay- he is known and loved by all those who have taught him over the years. He is smart and a problem-solver, someone who has often created unique contraptions such as his motorized bike and his elementary science fair projects. Like a mullet, he is a unique balance of professional, fun and versatile. He has an incomparable talent for bringing people together, as a natural leader, people look up to him and follow his lead. This graduate’s dramatic flair when delivering a story will be missed by us all. She is the perfect mix of feisty, kind, caring, persuasive, and hardworking. Something we admire about this grad is her determination, how she is always willing to stand up for what is right and her unique ability to convince an entire class of boys to do something like a manicure. Over the past few years, we witnessed this graduate empower himself as he discovered that learning everything you can about the things that cause uncertainty and worry can help you confront and overcome your fears. We will remember this grad for his joyful morning greetings, and for the smiles he delivered every day. We will miss his helpful spirit along with his funny and imaginative ‘what if’ scenarios. This grad is brilliantly unique with a huge imagination and a plethora of knowledge and ideas. His character is kind-hearted, helpful, and fiercely loyal to those who are lucky enough to be in his inner circle. This grad’s story would teach the reader lessons on how to be sneaky, trying to get out of things one doesn’t want to do in the most lovable, creative ways. It would also teach the reader lessons about maturity and growing up. He will be missed for his dedication to a good bit, for example his delivery of presentations inspired by Ace Ventura. This graduate’s story is auditory, a music album featuring many genres and crescendos. Metaphorically he has gone from quiet, calm acoustic music to loud, punk rock, heavy metal. In his early days at New Heights, he was shy and quiet, only coming out of his shell with the help of a Star Wars Fighter Toy. As he has gotten older, growing in confidence, he has shown his outspoken, funny, witty side and brilliantly intelligent side. We have all had the privilege of witnessing this grad discover his natural musical talent and perfect pitch. He inspires others to be the best version of themselves and to try new things. He is a leader in the guitar club and is loved as a role-model and teacher by all of the younger students who he teaches music to each week. We will miss you! Congrats. 🎓 by @newheightscalgary
