Today, we celebrate 48 years of love, faithfulness and covenant. ❤️

Happy Anniversary to our Bishop and Pastor, Melvin & Yvonne Brooks.

For 48 years, you’ve shown us what it means to build a marriage that honours God. Through every season life can bring, you’ve remained steadfast, united and deeply committed to one another. Your love has become a living testimony that inspires us all.

Thank you for giving New J more than leadership, you’ve given us an example. An example of faith, family, sacrifice, grace and unwavering love. Because of you, so many of us have seen what it looks like to build something that lasts.

As a church family, we’re so grateful for all you are and for the legacy your marriage continues to produce. The fruit of your love is seen not only in your family, but in the countless lives that have been transformed through your ministry.

Today we honour you, celebrate you, and thank God for you both. May the Lord continue to strengthen you, bless you, and grant you many, many more years together.

Today, we celebrate fathers everywhere, but we want to take a special moment to honour the father of our house, Bishop Melvin Brooks.

In a world where strong, godly men are needed more than ever, Bishop continues to provide a powerful example of what true manhood and fatherhood look like. Through his faith, wisdom, integrity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to God, he has become a blueprint for generations of men to follow.

He has taught us that strength is found in surrender to God, that leadership begins with service, and that legacy is built one faithful day at a time. Through his example, many have found healing, discovered their identity, and come to know more deeply the love of our Heavenly Father.

Thank you, Bishop, for your prayers, your sacrifice, your guidance, and your heart for God’s people. Thank you for leading with conviction, loving with consistency, and helping us become all that God has called us to be.

We are grateful for your life, your leadership, and the legacy you continue to build.

Happy Father’s Day. We love you, we honour you, and we thank God for you.

It’s Sunday morning, I’m getting ready for church, and I find myself reflecting on two powerful moments from this past week. 💜

Last Sunday, I joined Michelle Lynch MBA, Pastor Yvonne Brooks and Marcia Dixon MBE at New Jerusalem Community Church following the screening of Living, Loving, Serving: Women Leaders in Ministry, beautifully chaired by Danielle Shillingford.

We had honest conversations about leadership, sacrifice, womanhood, resilience and the realities of serving whilst carrying so much personally, spiritually and professionally. What made it even more powerful was that men stayed in the room, listened and engaged as we spoke openly about domestic abuse, fatherlessness, single motherhood and the importance of supporting one another well.

Then yesterday, in the spirit of Matthew 6:6, women gathered privately for prayer, praise and reflection away from the noise of the world. Joined by Tanya Hughes OBE FCIPD from Thailand, Pastor Yvonne Brooks and Pastor Marjorie Esomowei, we spoke about hidden burdens, leadership in exhaustion, protecting peace and what it truly means to live, love and serve without losing yourself.

The world feels heavy right now. But spaces like these remind me that healing, honesty, prayer and community still matter deeply.

💜 Leadership is not always loud.
Sometimes it simply looks like creating safe spaces for truth, healing and love.
