Mom Brain is real! Forgetting my ATM password after making an attempt to step out of the house to get my nails done has to be my worst experience! I panicked for real and felt quite bad to be honest. I think it was because of the shock! It was my first time being out of the house after many many many weeks of being indoors. I wasnā€™t expecting it my self! I literarily walked majestically to the ATM machine only to Freeze! I literally froze! My PIN was just gone. The same four numbers Iā€™ve typed so many times, and my brain gave me nothing. I cried oh! I cried! I felt so bad! Thankfully I wasnā€™t ā€œarrestedā€ (God forbid ) lol. The Lady at the nail studio was very understanding. She said she understands and just told me to be calm till my husband got to me or better put came to rescue me loool Mom Brain Is Real! Whatā€™s your worst Mom-Brain experience? Share with me. Another day of balancing and juggling! Whilst still attending to several other things and refusing to surrender to ā€œgravityā€! Up is the only way! Honestly, I think mothering super-strength just kicks in when you need it most. Itā€™s an unexplainable shift! No matter how we feel somehow I find that we mothers just show up! We just show up sleepy eyes, 4 hours of sleep and a rough nightā€¦ we still show up! Showing up on this particular day meant taking my little one for a Book Reading @happy.frankfurt so he feels included in the Joy of the newborn at home. Giving that attention is so important. What made this outing truly extra special was seeing the authorā€™s name on the cover: Catherine Aduke Folawiyo. @adufe.folawiyo. Off course sheā€™s got some Nigerian heritage! That was the joy for me! As a diaspora Nigerian Mom living here in Germany, giving my son tangible pictures of possibilities, showing him people who look like him doing incredible things globally is one of our absolute top priorities. Of course, we couldnā€™t leave without a signed copy! šŸ“ššŸ‡³šŸ‡¬ Thank you Adufe youā€™ve got such a beautiful name! @adufe.folawiyo and the chit chat with my son was šŸ‘šŸ‘āœ…āœ… It was also nice to meet Nana, the founder of Happy and experience the warmth of this incredible space. Put me in a room full of books and childrenā€™s literature, and I am in absolute heaven. We will definitely be back! Moms of two or more: How did you handle the transition during the early days? How do you balance one-on-one time? Help a sister out oh! #morolakeojuola #newmomingermany #motherhoodingermany #momsinfrankfurt intentionalparenting by @newmomingermany
Letā€™s talk about this word: BOUNCEBACK. Who actually invented the concept of ā€œbouncing backā€? Why on earth should anyone want to ā€œbounce backā€ especially after an intense experience like having a child? For NINE SOLID MONTHS, our bodies shifted organs, expanded skin, grew a brand new organ (the placenta!) and carried a whole human life. So what do you mean ā€œBounce Backā€. The word gets me upset every time! šŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆ There are so many factors to consider when you bring up that word. Some of are living far way from the large family community. Others have to struggle with birth complications or the almighty C-section! Whew! To expect a body to do all of that, endure surgery, and then magically shrink back into a size 8 or 10 six weeks later isnā€™t just unrealistic itā€™s disrespectful to what that body just accomplished. Period! From my end, thereā€™s no Bounce Back. Itā€™s one day at a time! One day at a time. I truly celebrate those who have been gifted with quick recovery bodies. This is not about you. Itā€™s about a system that indirectly expects everyone to fit into a box and head to the run or become a fashion model after 6 weeks! Shout out to all my New Moms! One day at a time! ā #PostpartumRealityā  ā #momsinfrankfurt ā  ā #FourthTrimesterā  ā #NewMomInGermanyā  #motherhoodingermany by @newmomingermany
The Heatwave + a Pregnancy deserves a Fully Funded Research by @gatesfoundation! Because what!!!! 2026 mamas please come forward! Letā€™s debrief and talk about surviving pregnancy during the heatwave? How did you cope? Or how are you still coping? We need to petition all relevant bodies including the United Nations for a fully funded research grant on Pregnant Women and Heatwaves! Because what in the world was that summer?!!!!!!! It was so so bad! Never experienced anything like it before! It felt like the heat was piped straight from the sun, it was a battle every single day!!!! At some point during that heat, I literally dragged a chair and sat directly in front of an open refrigerator just to feel human again! šŸ§ŠšŸ˜‚šŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆ For the research Incase anyone is interested these are the questions oh: šŸ˜ŽHow do we actually prepare expecting mamas for extreme heat? šŸŒžWhy arenā€™t cooling rooms for pregnant women and new moms standard in hospitals? šŸ”„Can we get a mandatory AC agreement for every train and bus, please?! šŸ„µWhat strategic relief measures should be considered ā™ØļøDo we mandate all hospitals in Germany to have - 16 Degrees cooling ACs or Ventilators ? ā˜€ļøCan we consider a Cooling room strictly for Pregnant women or new moms with babies.. ā€¦whoā€™s volunteering to conduct this research with me oh!!!šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ‘€šŸ‘€šŸ˜ŽšŸ˜ŽšŸ˜Ž And more importantly, where are we signing up for the funding? Because that combination was no joke. ā€¦incoming class of 2027 mamas: Please Take my advice now! Go and buy your portable fans and ventilators now while theyā€™re affordable, because that heat is still coming with full force! My 2026 mamas: Come forward, letā€™s chat, and catch up on how we survived. What was your cooling hack? - #heatwave2026 #momsinfrankfurt #motherhoodingermany #nigerianmomingermany #morolakeojuola by @newmomingermany
ā€œBecoming a parent is like lacing up a pair of hiking boots and heading out on a trail youā€™ve heard all kinds of stories about but never set foot on. Itā€™s exciting! Itā€™s scary! Itā€™s fun, messy and hard and wonderful all at once!ā€ excerpts from the New Parent Devotional After going through an intense experience like birthing a child, you simply become a different person. The former you dies and a new you resurrects. It can be messy, heavy and full of a lot of emotions. The first few days Iā€™m often all over the place with my emotions. For me, The reality that a living being stayed in my body for 9 solid months and has now come out left me in an interesting state. Iā€™m still in awe! Oluwatobiloba! God is great as they say in my Yoruba language. To stay anchored, I head back to the author of creation. The one who delicately constructed this miraculous process that even medical professionals havenā€™t totally figured out! There are parts of conception and delivery that still remains a mystery! Only God fully understands it. The Devotional for Parents has been one of such blessings for me. Itā€™s Simple. Nothing complicated but carries the comfort and encouragement I need! Are you a class of 2026 Mom? New Mom? I highly recommend! Would you like a opportunity to pray and commit the journey of your little one to God? Then my class of 2026 Mamas, letā€™s do it together. Letā€™s pray using Godā€™s word - The Bible for one hour every week. Drop the word ā€œIā€™m interestedā€ and Iā€™ll send you a link. ā¤ļø #newmomingermany #prayingmom #morolakeojuola #momlifeingermany by @newmomingermany
ā¤ļøIna Mayā€™s Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin ā¤ļøPraying Through Your Pregnancy: a week-by-week devotional by Carolyn Warren and Jennifer Polimino ā¤ļøSupernatural Childbirth by Jackie Mize ā¤ļøThe Second Baby Book by Sarah Ockwell-Smith ā¤ļøChildbirth Without Fear by Grantly Dick-Read My first pregnancy/ delivery was not much of a pleasant experience. So I decided that this time, I would do things differently. I pursued knowledge because like they say, knowledge is power! I didnā€™t want to wing it or assume the medical professionals know it all. I wanted to show up in the delivery room confident and knowledgeable. Yes there are many videos on line but I didnā€™t want base line information. I wanted something deeper + Iā€™m Iā€™m still very much a ā€œgrab a Book and read personā€. Reading Books feels like Iā€™m having a conversation with the author. My thoughts: Ina Mays guide to Child Birth - Honestly this felt like a warm heart to heart conversation book from an elderly woman talking to a young woman about the journey ahead. I enjoyed Reading it. The powerful stories were very inspiring and her non medical, not so complicated approach was very helpful for me. If you donā€™t want a mummy like conversation, it May not be a good fit for you. Praying through Pregnancy by. @ A week by week guide Supernatural Child Birth - I started in the first trimester and it was helpful but I couldnā€™t complete it. Letā€™s just say ā€œpregnancy brainā€. I wish I had the energy to read it all up. Towards the end of the journey I picked it up again. Many times i could only muster the prayers in my heart. The Second Baby Book - Interestingly i bought it long before I found out about baby 2 but I just never got to it. Again Iā€™ll blame this on mom and pregnancy brain. Childbirth without Fear - The first part was nice but I couldnā€™t go past that as the language was very heavy and abit too much for my pregnant Brain lol. This might be a better fit for you if you prefer solid, science based medical kind of advice. Supernatural Child Birth: I enjoyed Reading it. The central theme is about your confession, your faith #pregnancybooks #momlifeingermany #motherhoodingermany #morolakeojuola #newmom by @newmomingermany
