A woman allegedly pretended to be a substitute teacher at a Milwaukee high school, walked into a classroom and was left alone with students.
According to a criminal complaint, 23-year-old Amy Jones allegedly signed in as a substitute despite not being employed by the school or its substitute-teaching agency.
Once the actual teacher left the classroom, Jones allegedly berated students, used racial slurs and profanity, made sexually explicit comments, played loud music and asked students whether they had marijuana or a vape.
Police eventually escorted her from the school.
Jones reportedly told investigators she did it because she was
"bored" and wanted to cause trouble.

🚨 CHRISTA PIKE SURVIVES ATTEMPTED EXECUTION — TENNESSEE SUSPENDS ALL EXECUTIONS FOR THE REST OF 2026

What was supposed to be Tennessee’s first execution of a woman in more than 200 years turned into a stunning development Wednesday night when death row inmate Christa Pike survived the state’s lethal injection attempt.

Pike, now 50, was scheduled to be executed on September 30 for the 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. Pike was 18 when the crime occurred.

The execution began at Tennessee’s Riverbend Maximum Security Institution, where officials administered two doses of pentobarbital as part of the state’s lethal-injection protocol.

But Pike did not die.

Witnesses reported that she continued showing signs of life well after the procedure began, with reports describing audible breathing and other signs that the execution had not produced the intended result. She was eventually taken from the prison to an outside medical facility. Her current condition has not been publicly released.

And now, the situation has become even bigger.

Following the failed execution, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee announced that all executions in the state will be suspended through the end of 2026 while an independent investigation into what happened is conducted. The state had another execution scheduled for later this year.

Pike’s case has been controversial for years.

She was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy in connection with Slemmer’s killing. Prosecutors said Pike and two other teenagers attacked Slemmer after luring her to a remote area near the University of Tennessee campus.

Pike was the only person in the group sentenced to death. Her then-boyfriend, Tadaryl Shipp, was 17 at the time and ultimately received a life sentence, while Shadolla Peterson testified against Pike and Shipp and received probation.

Pike’s attorneys had spent years challenging her death sentence and Tennessee’s execution procedures. They pointed to her age at the time of the crime, her documented history of severe childhood abuse and mental-health conditions, and arguments concerning the development of the teenage brain.
