Abaris Moerae is the project of Nicholas Pucciarelli, an Italian-born, Finland-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and co-founder of New Polar Sound. His work blends experimental, ambient, and avant-garde elements into a process of transformation — where sound becomes a vessel for renewal. Co founder and curator of record label New Polar Sound. He is a part of various music projects including Mortar Devotions, Vitriol Crops, and most notably Nona et Decima. Under the pseudonym Abaris Moerae lays the intent of filtering the matter of being for a complete transmutation of self to music. His latest work will be released in October 2026 in co-production with AFDS (affine dark science) and New Polar Sound. Verbi is a new project by singer-songwriter Aleksi Ojala, focusing on sound-, beat- and improvisation-based expression. Verbi’s debut album will be out in 2026. Aleksi Ojala has previously released two albums for Universal Music Finland, of which the “Rakastaa ja tulla rakastetuksi” single from the latter became a hit. Ojala’s fifteen-year publishing hiatus ended in 2022, when he released the autobiographical album “Retrospektiivi”. This year, Ojala has released two singles from her upcoming fourth solo album. Italian musician and producer Manuele Frau presents Lucem Demonstrat Umbra, a 15-minute composition blending ambient, Kosmische Musik, and post-industrial sounds. For this work, Frau transformed the raw sounds of fire, metal, and tools recorded by sculptor Andrey Tischenko during the creation of his artworks, weaving them into his own musical language. The result is a true sonic sculpture, suspended between cosmic soundscapes and archaic impulses. The title, Latin for “The shadow demonstrates the light,” reflects on duality and the flow of time, transforming sound into living matter. Releasing on September 9, 2025, across all digital platforms by New Polar Sound, coinciding with Tischenko’s exhibition Les Belles et les Bêtes at Galerie Vallois, Paris. New release from Blow Up magazine celebrating its thirtieth anniversary. We are honored to have been featured with the wonderful review, written by Paolo Bertoni, of the CD release of @valysandor Early Works 1988–1992, in collaboration with @unexplained_sounds Group. "A few months ago I wrote about the excellent Prayer by Sándor Vály; Early Works 1988-1992 goes back to the beginnings of the Hungarian artist, who over the years has extended his interests to performance art and visual art. As the title makes clear, the material dates from the late ’80s to early ’90s, a decisive period in Vály’s life. In 1988, to avoid compulsory military service, he fled to France, and as a deserter he was sentenced to seven months of imprisonment. During this time he staged a suicide attempt that led him to a psychiatric hospital, where he began reading the Tibetan Book of the Dead. He found such solace in it that, with only a few self-built instruments, a Soviet-era analog synth, and cassette recorders, he produced works clearly inspired by that text—such as Bardo Thodol I, a quietly esoteric ritual evoking 23 Skidoo and PTV as much as Ain Soph and Zero Kama, and Bardo Thodol II, of a sustained dark ambient nature, rhythmic and with a rough guitar framework reminiscent of Throbbing Gristle. Slightly later, in 1989, came Souldrum I, a piece of noisy, rhythmic loops that nonetheless leave space for a distant contemporary-sounding piano. His move to Finland then coincided with the possibility of adding a computer to his instrumentation, and this change is documented here in four pieces dating from 1991–1992, including Limbus Patrum—thirteen minutes of rust and piercing cyber-loops, imploded electronic experimentation and post-industrial noise, with a shaded sense of pathos—and Melancholy, where the piano hesitates over a backdrop of glitches and rumbling drones.
