There’s no better place for our hearts to be than centered on Jesus. As we worship and continue through Ephesians, may we be people who reflect His humility, love, and unity in everything we do. #LifeChangingEncounters by @newrivertv

Meet Gina

For Gina, serving is about showing up with open hands and a willing heart—and trusting God to do what only He can do.

“I started serving because I’ve always loved working with kids, and I wanted to be part of creating a safe, fun place for them to meet Jesus.”

As a mom, seeing the joy her own son finds at church made Gina want to help create that same sense of peace and joy for other families. And over her years serving in Kids Ministry, God has taught her that ministry isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence.

“God is faithful in the small, ordinary moments. He uses my imperfect efforts to show love to kids and families.”

One moment that has stayed with Gina was watching a group of kids faithfully pray week after week for children in Kenya. Their sincere prayers reminded her just how naturally children can understand the heart of God—and how big His love really is.

Gina also wants anyone nervous about serving to know something important: “You don’t have to be perfect to serve, you just have to be willing.” You won’t be thrown in alone. You’ll find people who help, encourage, and grow alongside you.

Gina, thank you for bringing your willing heart, your love for kids, and your faithfulness to the next generation. We’re so grateful for the little family you’ve found—and helped build—through serving. taken in New River Fellowship by @newrivertv

Today, we honor the pastors who have said YES to the call. đŸ€

To the ones who preach the Word, shepherd the hurting, disciple the next generation, lead us in worship, build community, strengthen families, and continually point us back to Jesus — thank you.

We are better because you lead.
Our church is stronger because you serve.

We love you, we honor you, and we thank God for the way you faithfully shepherd our church. 💙

Meet Ricky

For Ricky, serving isn’t just something we do—it’s part of who we’re called to be.

“I always felt called to teaching, and I saw a need when Sarah came on stage right after I’d asked God to show me where to serve.”

Since then, Ricky has found his place in Kids Ministry, where he gets to teach, build community, and pour into the next generation. And why does he keep saying yes?

“God keeps saying yes, so I do as well.”

Serving has taught Ricky that God deeply values community and His people. It’s also given him the accountability to stay consistent in growing his relationship with God and with the church. As he puts it, “Church doesn’t stop at the pews.”

One of the moments that has stayed with him most was serving at REV and seeing the kids worship. Watching them encounter God reminded Ricky of the impact that comes from simply being obedient to the call to serve.

To anyone who feels nervous, Ricky has a simple reminder: “You don’t have to be nervous with family.” Serving is a place to truly connect with the people of your church.

Ricky, thank you for answering God’s call and faithfully saying yes. We’re grateful for the way you teach, lead, and invest in the next generation. taken in New River Fellowship by @newrivertv

Meet Stephanie

For Stephanie, serving is a simple way to love people, build community, and give back to something that has been such a blessing to her family.

“I wanted to get to know more people and connect on a deeper level. I also wanted to start serving in order to give back to something that had been such a blessing in our lives.”

After more than five years serving in Kids Ministry, Stephanie has discovered that serving gives her a front-row seat to what God is doing in the hearts of the next generation.

One of the sweetest moments has been watching her own girls grow old enough to serve in Tots—and then getting to serve alongside them. Another has been VBS, where she’s watched kids encounter the Holy Spirit through worship and prayer.

“It’s incredible to have a front row seat to see the Holy Spirit at work in these kids’ hearts. They have hearts for worship and for prayer, and for the world, and it is an honor.”

Serving has also shown Stephanie how God uses ordinary people to love and bless others. And she wants anyone considering serving to know: “Just take the first step.” You don’t have to figure it out alone. You’ll be equipped, supported, and given an opportunity to connect.

Stephanie, thank you for faithfully saying yes—and for creating space for kids and families to encounter Jesus. We’re so grateful for the way you serve, and for the beautiful example you’re setting for your own girls. taken in New River Fellowship by @newrivertv
