Some friends and I made a bunch of noise and put it into this shape. You can download it for free and share it with your friends (or enemies!) enjoy and let us know what you think. It’s about 17 minutes of noise. Xoxo

It’ll be on some streaming later - but not Spotify.

Building out some tooling for future livestream / event ideas and I stumbled upon this old SEQ file that I have no recollection of making. Loaded it into BROADCAST (more on that later) and captured the output.

Let’s combine the most high and low fidelity tools I own.

Sequence I put together for @cuttingedgenola but never used mixed with a motorized tilt pan slider camera rig through a VCR and analog video mangler and back into a MacBook. This is how my brain works apparently. by @newspeechsound

I built some more browser based audio tools and wrote some words about them on newspeechsound.com

slice - create rhythms and mangle from data input (Morse code, binary or any set of integers)

decay - a slow machine built as disintegration loops for the digital era

drone - build a drone voice, audition it and kick it out into sequence taken in New Orleans, Louisiana by @newspeechsound

SEQUENCE is built on a json framework for managing pattern data. This is an open and common structure which is easy to read and write to. Say perhaps you wanted to map pressure data from historical hurricane research to create pitches and melodies?

Quick demo idea (visual is also mapping the same hurricanes). More to come on this later.

Definitely forgot to post these incredible shots from @pjsolo_la from the Valhalla session with @riichgood and @yael_drumadkt. The best time with the best people.

Highly recommend dragging modular synths around as often as possible. by @newspeechsound

CLIP [ns-04]
Further #debris falling out of today’s recording sessions. Developed additional noise tooling into the software. Results are promising. Allowing a stereo filter to clock itself from a secondary audio source results in some interesting and unpredictable sounds.

Always looking for new ways to create a sound tearing itself apart.

GRAINS [ns-03]
Sequencer development continues with renewed interest from recently opened @madeinpolyend Tracker source code. Extended sample playback engine to include Tracker inspired granular playback (with additional modulation options) while maintaining ability to directly export .pti files to hardware.

Pushing code the night before a video production is a good idea right? by @newspeechsound

DEBRIS // [ns-02]

Welcome to an ever expanding collection of digital experiments, ideas, flotsam and jetsam. These may never make their way to full streaming releases but they warrant more than to decay in cloud storage forever. DEBRIS will be a recurring feature around these parts. by @newspeechsound

sequence 0.5.3_test_01

After a few weeks of work on our software it was time to put it to the test. This is the very first attempt to combine sequence with live playing. So much more to come.

All non-guitar-or-drums sounds via custom app running audio + video + midi out. More to come on the nerd stuff.
