The goal is so close. The appreciation and love felt by our sweet artists in Port-au-Prince Haiti is immense I promise you. Lesly is almost ready to finish purchasing the mini-bus for the school. All of the funds gathered so far have been applied to the down payment. The seller of the vehicle is a kind man I had the pleasure of speaking to personally who is also invested in the Haitian art scene and community enrichment. Please help New Vision Art School finish the last portion of the payment with even a small donation. This is 100% non-profit. My personal donations cover the GoFundMe and bank transfer fees as well as help the school buy food and drink for workshops and art supplies every so often. Lesly will use the mini-bus to transport the artists and especially the kids safely to exhibitions where they may network and sell artwork. There are regular gun conflicts between police and gangs inside cities and between cities. It can be dangerous traveling in Haiti and it has never been safe enough to take the kids. This will be a resource to a struggling community of artists in many ways that are difficult to grasp for people in the U.S. Lesly and New Vision Art Schools mission is to be an example to other communities in Haiti, to show that joining gangs and resorting to violence is not the only way to survive. They seek to encourage kids to cultivate skills in their talents and become creators. That is how they believe they will stop the fighting, by starting with the children in their community. Hello to all our followers and supporters, today I’m feel overjoyed to thank us for our support during difficult time in Port-au-Prince, Haiti … like we know the situation became terrible over 3 months and I obliged to close our door and a few students left the community where the art school located but I keep trying to support kids as I can , sell their artwork. when you purchase one of students art , you support a whole family cause they use money to buy foods and important things for their kids.
