This is how @newyorkcat gets high at @burningman

Sunrise to @rufusdusol with so many friends and fam in the crowd made my heart burst!

Thank you to the @maxacamp crane and art car team for taking such great care of your aerialists! It was cold and I was tired, but I felt so safe!🙏

Thank you @foxieflambe for trusting me to manage aerial at some of the big cranes- I just love peddling this drug to other aerialists!😻

Spin Technique & Control

In this 90-minute workshop, we’ll explore all things spins! Learn how to spin underneath yourself without a swing or orbit, along with tools and practices for alleviating dizziness, nausea, and other spin-related wonkiness.

We’ll play with span set spins, side mounts, split spins, and more at multiple heights, while exploring different ways of entering the hoop.

This workshop will help you level up your technique and create tighter, more centered spins for a polished, professional look.

The workshop includes a thorough warm-up so you’re ready to spin safely and confidently. Come ready to play, learn, and get purrfectly centered!

Build’s the best part
First 24hrs of @brcmunicipalpool
Wed Aug 26

After another yr of at least 13 days on playa, what has become a yearly pilgrimage to the desert, I’m full of Inspiration, Love & Gratitude. For me, Burning Man is similar to the 8 10day silent Vipassana retreats I’ve sat or served…
Every time is so different. You never know what’s going to come up. It’s about finding equanimity amongst the lack of control. Being ok w/powerlessness. Examining your relationship w/uncertainty. Opening your heart. Surrender.

You can’t be in control when you’re being whipped by playa dust at 55mph. You’re not in control when you randomly run into someone you see only 1x a yr & love so much at @bubbles.and.bass Control must be relinquished when the zipper to your Shiftpod door rips off completely!😹 & control slips away when the amazing camp you helped build holds you w/love, support & an eagerness to give + create!

You surrender & serendipity steps in.

While I didn’t get to dingle dangle from a hot air balloon as planned… I made deep connections w/so many people I’ve known forever & many I just met. I spent several hrs in a whiteout w/ @wildflwrnicole + @maurysafarii just making Art into the wind… on @theartrising Mundara, which my friend @rewildingmachine worked on! @alanabrudolph my Nightmare Xmas twin spread her LGS (Lucky Gurl Syndrome) to me! I got to dangle w/some of my faves, @ashleerosemontague @maurysafari @niaonfia @juliawild @wildflwrnicole + @kheannawalker among others! I got to make Art & give gifts to BRC. I had some epic run ins at Bubbles & Bass + open playa! I was so thankful I got contacts just a wk before departure, being able to be 👓 free was such a game changer! I didn’t run into the coke head math teacher who love bombed + SA’d me earlier this yr, thank you so much Universe! I fell in such deep Love w/our camp @brcmunicipalpool which, at 61 strong was the purrfect size, full of the most purrfect people, no drama, no negativity, built & tore everything down ahead of schedule… What a great year!

Surrender + Open 💚= ✨ by @newyorkcat
