Absolute Batman #19 – @chumahill Variant 🦇🔥It’s #batfamilyfriday with the boys at @blackordercomicclub and this is my entry! Chuma absolutely killed this cover. Batman and Scarecrow legit look like they’re morphing into the same person, and with every issue it feels like the lines between who Batman is and who he needs to become are getting more blurred. The horror vibe on this is unreal.Story-wise, Snyder keeps turning up the pressure on Bruce, with Scarecrow forcing him deeper into his fear, anger and obsession. Walking Dead #1 - 9.8 - With the BLACK “Mature Readers” making this comic extremely rare, only 10% of the first print run had the black text!! With the start of a new year, I had to share the book that started everything for me.I was 8 years old when I first read this issue, flashlight in hand, way past my bedtime. No hype, no expectations, no idea what it would eventually become. That moment sparked my love for comics, collecting, and eventually The Walking Dead as a whole. Skybound X #1 — Second Printing • Black & White Edition.It’s #FearFriday over at @blackordercomicclub and few characters have faced fear like Clementine. Every day in a world overrun by walkers is a fight to survive.As someone who loved playing The Walking Dead Telltale games, Clementine has always been one of my favourite characters in the entire franchise. Her first comic appearance in Skybound X #1 is a huge reason why this remains one of my favourite Walking Dead books in my collection.The black-and-white second printing lets Charlie Adlard’s artwork do all the talking. Alien #1 — Signed & Sketched by the man himself @jonathan_uribe_id I’d been on the hunt for another Alien or Predator book for the PC, and then this beauty popped up. An Alien #1 blank sketch cover brought to life with an original Predator sketch… it couldn’t have been more perfect.Idris absolutely knocked this one out of the park. X Men Of Apocalypse #1 - 1:100 - @danielwarrenart cover! DWJ has this incredible ability to make a single moment feel like it’s in motion. This cover is pure violence frozen in time. The exaggerated poses, brutal expressions and that massive optic blast tearing through the page make it feel like the fight has exploded right into your hands.Inside, the Age of Apocalypse survivors finally collide with the main Marvel Universe, and it doesn’t take long before they’re forced into a brutal showdown with the Uncanny X-Men. Absolute Batman #9 — Cover by the legend himself, @chumahill @ecgcecomics Exclusive • Limited to just 250 copies worldwide.This was one of those books that instantly became a must-have for my Absolute Batman collection. In a market where most exclusives have print runs in the thousands, having one that’s limited to just 250 copies worldwide is crazy. It’s also one of those exclusives you simply don’t see very often, which made finally adding it to the collection a pretty good day. 🔥I’m now on a mission to add the last Chuma Hill cover to the collection. There’s just something about his artwork that sits perfectly between comic book storytelling and fine art. GI Joe: Snake Eyes Dead Games - #3 - cover by the incredible @kaelngu It’s #topartisttuesday over @blackordercomicclub and this had to be my pick. Kael absolutely nailed one of my favourite characters ever. The lighting, contrast and insane detail make this cover an absolute standout. Army of Darkness Forever #13 – Cover by @bbarends_illustration Finally got around to reading this series over the weekend and I really enjoyed it. It captures everything I love about the franchise, Deadites, chainsaws, time travel and Ash Williams causing absolute chaos. Björn Barends’ covers really are a breath of fresh air.
