Mala blev känd som en av grundarna av DMZ, kollektivet bakom några av den moderna basmusikens mest inflytelserika klubbkvällar och de mest eftertraktade 12-tumsvinylerna på scenen. Nästan 20 år senare fortsätter hans idéer och skapelser att influera, driva utvecklingen framåt och förena samtida elektronisk musik på nya och outforskade sätt. Att Dizzee Rascal är en av de mest absolut viktigaste inspiratörerna för modern grime råder det ingen tvekan om. Den idérika, energiska hybrid av UK garage, stora trummor och brittisk hiphop som han presenterade på det numera ikoniska debutalbumet ’Boy in da Corner’ från 2003 låter lika obegagnad och nyskapande idag som den gjorde för 20 år sedan. I höst återvänder Dizzee Rascal till Sverige för en konsert på Debaser i Stockholm den 17 oktober, då med nytt material i bagaget. Den 18 april är det dags för ett Metalheadz-takeover på Slaktkyrkan i Stockholm med DJ Storm, Chinese Daughter, Filliam Hotpicks, Submotive och Seba. Metalheadz är ett legendariskt drum and bass-skivbolag som grundades i London 1994.
