🔥 FRIGHT NIGHT is coming to The Acorn… and this is just a taste. 🔥
If you like your circus with a darker edge, a live-show buzz and a little Halloween mischief, Fright Night is for you. 🎪🖤
Cirk Hes and Airfish Circus are joining forces at The Acorn Theatre, Penzance for a night of bold circus performance, theatrical chaos and suitably spooky surprises.
This clip of our witch 'Bama' gives you a flavour of the kind of live energy we love creating — but you’ll need to be in the room for the real thing. 👀

🎟️ Tickets are available now
👉 Book via the Events page on the Cirk Hes website, or direct via the Acorn's website.
👉 Or find the event and book through Facebook
Bring your friends. Tell your friends. Why not dress for the occasion too?

💥WHAT A SUMMER IT'S BEEN! 💥

Full newsletter on our FB

We’ve had young people performing, training, fundraising, taking circus out into the community and generally reminding us exactly why we love doing what we do.
There has been such a lot going on both on and off site over the last few months.

Our young people have trained hard, performed publicly, taken circus out into Helston and beyond, through various events, productions and performances. They have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into another summer of making circus accessible, visible and fun.
Our Saturday Morning Circus, Monday Night Teens only, Home Ed, and Evening Aerial and Ground Based sessions for all ages continued to be busy throughout the Summer.
We're also delighted to have a member of our Gen A Youth Circus accepted onto the National Circus CAT Scheme, and it's with delight, tinged with sadness that we see another member of our NextGen Circus prepare to begin their first year of a Degree at National Centre For Circus Arts.

A huge thank you goes our from all of us at Cirk Hes, to everyone who came to watch a show, joined a workshop, shared a post, donated, volunteered, transported equipment, bought a ticket, cheered from the audience or helped us keep the whole circus moving.

Every bit of support matters, and we are hugely grateful for it.

☀️ OUR 24 HOUR CIRKATHON 🌕

One of the highlights of the Summer was our youth-led 24 Hour Cirk-A-Thon, held on International Youth Day.

Our young circus members set themselves the fairly ridiculous challenge of spending 24 hours immersed in circus activity to raise money towards keeping youth circus training affordable and accessible.

The day included a free community circus workshop, a performance, a parade through Helston, hours and hours of circus training, a sleepover at Cirk Hes and eventually a very well-earned circus brunch.

More importantly, it was created and driven by the young people themselves.

To all who donated and to our sponsors @rollthedicecornwall @thecornishoven @trevowhelston @wick_and_wood @chypraze_farm_and_butchery #Littlejobscornwall, @serenity.fire.ltd @red.lionhelston @sainsburys 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽 taken in Eco Park Porthtowan by @nextgen_circus

🎪 ALMOST TIME !!! 🎪

For the first time, our Youth Circus members and their families have divided and organised a fundraising campaign themselves.

Our goal was to raise £1,000 — enough to help keep the Cirk Hes Youth Circus training running for a month and support the free and concessionary access schemes, helping ensure circus remains accessible to everyone. But thanks to everyone’s incredible donations we have already exceeded the goal !!! 🎉 With a few days remaining before the Cirk-A-Thon taking place on International Youth day — 12th of August — we are hoping to keep the donations flowing and exceed the goal even further.

Cirk Hes has helped us gain the creativity, commitment and determination to want to help support the circus community we love. Here is some of the NextGen circus saying how Cirk Hes has helped us progress and prepare for the circus industry while creating a fun, safe and challenging environment for us to be ourselves. All the donations are helping to keep this community running and helping to ensure circus remains accessible to everyone.

What is the Cirk-A-Thon?

On the 12th of August — International Youth Day — our young people will attempt to complete a full 24 hours immersed in circus activity!

We are seeking donations through the link in our bio.

Our 24-hours circus adventure will include:

🎪 A free ground-based and aerial circus workshop in @coronation_park_helston
🎭 A free circus show in the park
🥁 A parade through Helston, visiting sponsoring businesses and shops for photographs and thank-you’s
🥤 A cheeky refreshment stop at @trevowhelston , with refreshments kindly supplied by Sainsbury’s Helston
🤹 A return to Cirk Hes to continue circus training until they drop
🎬 An evening of back-to-back Cirque du Soleil shows — with The Greatest Showman making at least one appearance
🌙 A youth Circus sleepover in the space
🥐 A well-earned circus brunch before heading home

@cirkhes will share hourly updates throughout the challenge, so supporters can follow our progress and see evidence of our non-stop circus antics.

A huge thank-you to everyone who has donated so far, everything is appreciated !!!! by @nextgen_circus

🎪 Their circus. Their idea. Their 24-hour challenge. 🎪

Today, our young people officially launch the Cirk Hes Youth Circus Cirk-A-Thon, ahead of our Charity's 23rd anniversary on 29 July — and this fundraiser is particularly special.

For the first time, our Youth Circus members and their families have devised and organised a fundraising campaign themselves. They have even created the promotional video accompanying this post. We could not be prouder of their creativity, commitment and determination to support the circus community they love. 💚

Their goal is to raise £1,000 — enough to help keep our Youth Circus training running for a month and support our free and concessionary access schemes, helping ensure circus remains accessible to everyone.

What is the Cirk-A-Thon?

On 12 August — International Youth Day — our young people will attempt to complete 24 hours immersed in circus activity!

They are seeking donations and hourly sponsorship from local businesses, community members, friends and family to help carry them through the challenge. Link in bio.

Their 24-hour circus adventure will include:

🎪 A free ground-based and aerial circus workshop in @coronation_park_helston
🎭 A free circus show in the park
🥁 A parade through Helston, visiting sponsoring businesses and shops for photographs and thank-you's
🥤 A cheeky refreshment stop at @trevowhelston, with refreshments kindly supplied by @Sainsburys_Helston

We’ll share hourly updates throughout the challenge, so supporters can follow their progress and see evidence of their non-stop circus antics.

They have already raised an amazing £230 on official campaign launch day!

A huge thank-you to our wonderful first donor, local business @serenity.fire.ltd , whose generous £100 donation started the ball rolling, and to Mr James Roberts and Mr Andrew Walsh for adding their support. We cannot thank you enough on behalf of our young people. by @nextgen_circus
