Everyone is launching AI courses right now.

Anthropic just released one. Universities are building them. Platforms like Coursera, Udemy, and Google already have thousands.

But here’s the real question: are we teaching kids tools… or how to think?

Because the tools will change.
The skills that matter won’t.

The world our children are inheriting will be shaped by artificial intelligence whether we prepare them or not.

AI is no longer emerging technology.
It is rapidly becoming the infrastructure behind how we work, communicate, create, and make decisions.

The question facing this generation is not whether they will use AI.

It is whether they will grow up understanding it, guiding it, and thinking alongside it…
or quietly surrendering their agency to it.

Next Gen Fluent was created to meet that moment.

Our mission is to help raise a generation of young people who can engage with artificial intelligence thoughtfully, critically, and creatively, without losing the human capacities that drive innovation in the first place: curiosity, emotional intelligence, imagination, ethical reasoning, and real-world connection.

We believe that a future dominated by technology but disconnected from humanity is not progress.

And that protecting children from the tools shaping their world is not protection.
It is neglect.

True preparation means equipping students not only with technical literacy, but with the discernment, creativity, and self-trust to use powerful tools without being defined by them.

Next Gen Fluent exists to build that foundation.

What happens when kids grow up surrounded by AI before they fully understand what makes humans… human?

That’s the conversation.

At Next Gen Fluent, we’re not teaching kids to fear AI. We’re teaching them how to question it, challenge it, use it responsibly, and understand the difference between intelligence and humanity.

Because a chatbot can imitate emotion.
It can imitate confidence.
It can even imitate connection.

So I’m super excited and wanted to share what this actually looks like in a real classroom.

Last week at New Vision Charter School, we taught Lesson 4 with Mrs. Neville’s class—focused on turning ideas into real, step-by-step plans.

We used ChatGPT for maybe 20–30 minutes.

The rest?

Students explaining, questioning, and thinking through problems on their own.

AI in the classroom doesn’t mean less thinking.

It demands better thinking.

We’re building video lessons so any teacher can bring this into their classroom—even with no AI background.
