2026 GWOC MEN’S SOCCER RECAP ⚽️

The regular season concluded yesterday for our GWOC men’s soccer teams. Effort was shown from all teams this year, but unfortunately, only one could be crowned champion.

Your 2026 GWOC Soccer Champions is BEAVERCREEK! 🏆🧡

The 2026 offensive leaders scoring the most points were led by Senior Chris Powell of Northmont, Senior Maddox Rose of Centerville, and Junior Gavin Weaver of Fairmont.

The 2026 defensive leaders with the most saves were Senior Mario Loritts Jr of Wayne, Junior Drake Hammond of Miamisburg, and Freshmen Jorge Sanchez-Huerta of Springfield.

Beavercreek had a 6-0-1 conference record, with Centerville being the runner up with a 5-0-2 conference record.

Great job to everyone who competed this season, and good luck to the teams moving onto the post season.

First up is Senior #0 Henry Kaufman (Goalkeeper) 👏👏👏

Henry is a 4 year Varsity player and started his first Varsity game as a freshman. He's shown tremendous leadership on and off the field. As a Senior, he is a Varsity Captain and on the Leadership Council. He was also on the Leadership Council as a Junior Class Representative. He was All-GCL Honorable Mention for 2 years and has over 300 goalkeeper saves, 11.5 shutouts, and a save percentage of ~80% at Alter. As a Sophomore, he was tied for 1st in save percentage for the GCL and was 2nd for saves. As a Junior, he finished 2nd in save percentage in the GCL. He also plays club soccer for Ohio Galaxies.

Henry's academic awards, clubs and interests include National Honor Society (President), Alter Scholars, perfect ACT score, Hope Squad, Student Council Social Officer, German Club (President), Columbian Squires, Horizons of Medicine Club, Upper Room/Campus Ministry and playing piano. Henry also is a 3 year Varsity swimmer and 3 year State qualifier; he was Swim Captain as well in 2026.

His favorite soccer memory is winning the US Club Soccer State Cup Championship in a penalty shootout.

Henry plans to major in chemical engineering/premed with the goal of attending medical school. He is considering Notre Dame or Ohio State. We know Henry will meet his goals because of his excellent work ethic and positive attitude. ✔️✔️ We look forward to calling him Dr. Kaufman in the future!
