I've been turning this thought over and over in my head for the past two three weeks ever since I returned from Japan - allegedly the epitome of development.

We must atleast try to solve for the humanity's big problems you know? Not make them tolerable by inventing five minute delivery apps.

Marriages by design ensure to trap women in endless service to men.

Men who act like they're doing some charity work are lying. They're robbing you of your power to fend for yourself and keeping you dependent.

True love is only possible between equals and a man who is choosing someone significantly powerless is doing so to keep someone vulnerable around to exploit just because she has 0 avenues to fight back.

Stay single, seriously, it's better than ending up with the wrong person who is jealous and insecure and sabotages your prospects.

Or if you must choose, this is something you have to assess a person for before you choose. Most women in India drop out of the workforce after marriage forgoing their right to meaningful work and to shape the world to benefit themselves and other women, because of the wrong men in their lives.

A regular trip to her maternal home turned into a nightmare for 43-year-old Manoshi Goswami when she found herself and her seven-year-old daughter stuck in the middle of floodwaters in Upper Assam’s Sivasagar district in Nazira town.

Goswami reached Sundarpukhuri village in Nazira on July 10 and travelled to Golaghat district (approximately 100 kms) with her daughter to visit her relatives in the morning on July 19. It had rained continuously the previous night and by late afternoon the water levels had started rising rapidly.

Goswami's 85-year-old mother was stuck at home as water started entering their home.

This is Manoshi Goswami's story but several others in Nazira found themselves stuck due to the flooding on July 19 with no or little help from the authorities.
