From afar you probably can't tell that this plush inspired by #thesquidgame franchise is created with two different brands of yarn. Or perhaps, some of you with an expert eye can. I was randomly scrolling through my photos when I came across this first one that almost gives off "watching from the security cam" type vibe. So I figured hey perfect day to post it.

I don't have much to say today, as if you skim my captions in my photos, I use the caption area as a sort of journal.

I don't have much going on today, but for the first time in weeks, I got dressed up, put on some makeup, just to go for a quick store run.

Although, there is a ribbon cutting at a new craft store coming to my area in downtown. I've never been to a grand opening or a ribbon cutting, and I definitely need to start getting out of the house and learning my town. I've only lived here for four years, y'know 😉

Anyway, have a lovely day today. Eat something good and stay hydrated.

I love packaging things and making little gift sets or treat boxes. And since I can't get my fix with an ecommerce store, I do by making them for my kiddos.

No but I love making little gift boxes for my kids. And this week in my favorite aisle of my local Walmart (the clearance aisle) I found some goodies at super good prices and put them together.

I had gotten the little animal gift boxes on the aisle some time ago and just now opened them to find they are much smaller than I expected, but I had these treat bags left over and used them for the bigger items.

Today is a nice sunny day after our recent hurricane Isaias. And although I have the urge to get outside and enjoy it, I've been using today to get back to my equilibrium after an almost two week long bought of depression. But I feel better today, so I'm using it to get back to myself. And I've been looking for activities to get into. Apparently there's a craft club I had no idea about in my area as well as a new craft store is opening. So guess where I'll be tomorrow? Yep, at the grand opening. 😁

I don't know why, but I truly enjoyed making this squid pattern that I had to make it twice. 🦑 I thought it would be a great way to use up some yarn. Believe it or not, it doesn't take as much yarn as you'd think it would.

One day I'd like to make a giant octopus. I've seen a couple different ones around. I love the realistic looking ones. I don't think I'd want to play yarn chicken with one though, so I'll have to check my stash. 🐙

Currently, I've been working on making 20 small crochet plushies for my daughter's Christmas party (in advance). I'm documenting it on my YouTube (link in bio). ✅

I've been working on it slowly for 3 weeks now. I hate repetitive things, but I want to do this, so I decided to do it so far in advance that every time I make another one it feels almost fresh again. 🍃

Plus it helps that I actually enjoy the pattern.

Speaking of which, I really enjoyed this squid pattern. Maybe I'll end up making an army. Or maybe I'll just leave it at these two. Who knows.

💧 If you would have told me as a child that when I became an adult that my life would be going in a circle, I wouldn't have believed you. 💧

Here I showcase a gift I made for my nephew, last Spring. I have always been a fan of the One Piece franchise (although i still haven't binged the anime from beginning to current ... Adulting, am I right?).

I, however, have NEVER been a huge fan of crocheting amigurumi with any yarn that was not plush yarn. 🧶

I remember really enjoying the process of creating this doll. Taking my time with each stitch, so that I wouldn't have any miscounts, or have to frog any part of it. 🐸

Although I hate sewing, and I suck at embroidery, I was very proud of my work with the project. And maybe it was because I was making it for someone else, that I really felt the need to make it as perfect as I was capable of doing. 🧵

One day I hope to take this same pattern (if I can remember where I got it from, lol) and create the entire thing out of plush yarn. I know it's gonna be HUGE!!!

🍂waking up to leaves on my car. A morning breeze last week.

Went for an interval run with a weighted vest, and not baking in the summer sun.

🎃 Fall has finally approached us, and here in sunshine Florida, it actually is beginning to FEEL like autumn.

Thus, to welcome the new, cooler coming weather 🤞🏾 I would like to share with you my first (and probably only) piece of crochet d fall decor I have pieces together this year.

A crocheted ghost 👻 pumpkin peek a boo plush, and a crocheted sunflower placemat.

💙 So I bought this yarn because it was pretty but with no project in mind. It's been sitting for MONTHS just collecting dust because no ideas seemed right. Well until my daughter asked me to make a loaf cat for one of her school mates and here came the #loafcat 💙

🪼 As we are nearing the end of September, I have reflected on all of the things accomplished, gained and lost within the last few months. The ups and downs, the stresses, but also the good times and the wisdom and clarity I have gained. The friendships that have been strengthened by struggles. Realizing that accepting help is okay and I don't have to do all of this alone. 🪼

Typically during the school year 🎒 , I try to make mini crochet items for each of my daughter's classes. Which can be fun but also quite overwhelming when you're rushing to make 50 or so items for every major holiday. And, normally, I make keychains ⛓️ because they work up quicker.

I decided to do something a little different this year 💡, and that is I allowed each one to choose a holiday and I would make items for that class only for the holiday.

My youngest chose Christmas 🎄, and after a failed snowman (looked like a chicken, 😂) I decided on these little guys. Elves? Reindeer elf? Tree? Lol.

I am working on making 20 of them for now. Typically the classes range from 17 to 20. I have three done so far and 4 more hats done. I can't wait to see how the army looks! 😆

I, originally, made this caterpillar in a cocoon for a schoolmate of my daughter's. 🐛

Looking at it now, it seems to symbolize something more than just a gift 🎁... But an awakening of myself ... a renewal of letting go and not being afraid 😟 to take risks and be my true authentic self.

I've walked on eggshells for so long ... Stifled my own needs and interests for so long ... I now make that decision to come out into my own 🦋

Autumn 🍁 shows us how beautiful it is to let things go ... When I came across this it hit 🎯 me right where it needed to. I've tried the let go and let God approach, only to falter from it.

When you falter from that approach, you forget how freeing 🦅 it is to cast your burdens onto Him.

But not only was it a reminder ⏰ for me to let go of what's burdening me ... But also to let go of whatever is holding back the use of my free will and creativity 🎨 ... Fear ... So here we go ... Working on letting fear go. 😮‍💨
