🔥 UBUNTU PRESENTS: NEGRITUDE. 🔥

*We can’t dance without taking position .

To be universal, one had to begin by denying that one is Black, but on the contrary, the more Black one is, the more universal one will be.

For this event, I decided to pay homage to Aimé Césaire.

On 11th, 12th & 13th september , Ubuntu brings together artists from across Europe to celebrate creativity, freedom, culture, and community through dance, music, art, poetry, and discussion.

This event is inspired by Aimé Césaire , famous Martinican poet, author, and politician who co-founded the Négritude literary movement. Born in Basse-Pointe, Martinique, he used his writing to fight against racial injustice and the impact of French colonialism.

This event will be a challenge for every dancer , when music and people become one .

In that same spirit, Ubuntu invites dancers and artists to step outside their comfort zones, connect across styles, and explore new ways of expressing themselves.

When salsa meets waacking 🔥✨
Capturing pure energy and unmatched expression at Negritude!

Watch as these incredible dancers fuse Latin rhythms with sharp, dramatic poses and high-energy arm whacks.

@thelionesse_ brought the heat and the perfect energy , so it was easy to follow.

We need more waacking for salsa dancers.

A dream come true salsa moment ❤️ Thank you for such a beautiful dance @lelion_issiaka 🥰🙏

Love this video. I see so much in it.. progress, mistakes, the comfortable and the uncomfortable. But most of all, pure happiness 😍 My grin (when I’m not focusing, and remembering to breathe 😅) says it all. So lucky to have had the opportunity to dance with such a talented dancer.

As the third year of my dancing journey began, I feel so grateful to have found something that brings me so much joy, challenges me, constantly pushes me out of my comfort zone and continuously gives me another opportunity to grow.

Thank you for the video 📸 @u_buntuuu
