Happy Election Day!

We believe participating in our democracy matters. That’s why Charitable Foundation staff are given time to vote as part of our employee benefits.

Some members of our team have already cast their ballots today and sent us these snapshots along the way!

If you haven’t voted yet, we hope you’ll make your voice heard today. by @nhcfoundation

Last week, our team got into the Halloween spirit with some creative costumes at our annual celebration! 🎃

Here are just a few photos from the festivities. Wishing all who celebrate a safe and fun Halloween! by @nhcfoundation

We’re excited to welcome Hannah Campbell to our Charitable Foundation team! Hannah, of Colebrook, is now leading the Tillotson family of funds, including the Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund, which invests in the people and organizations of the North Country.

Hannah sat down with Lois Shea to talk about her hopes for the role, her onetime dream of becoming a fighter pilot, teaching high school math, how her parents met while working at a Tillotson factory in Dixville Notch, and more.

Last week, our board of directors gathered in Durham for its annual board retreat, marking both Shawn Morehead’s first retreat as president and CEO and Evelyn Aissa's first as board chair. Board members spent time together learning, reflecting and looking ahead.

We’re pleased to share that furniture maker and sculptor @aspen_golann of Rollinsford has been awarded the 2026 Piscataqua Region Artist Advancement Grant. The grant supports the cultivation of the Piscataqua Region’s arts community, helps artists advance their careers and encourages them to live and work in the region.

Aspen is the founder of @the_chairmakers_toolbox, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to traditional woodworking through free classes, tools, mentorship and education for historically excluded makers. With support from the Artist Advancement Grant, she plans to establish a permanent studio space for her growing practice while creating opportunities for other local artists.

This morning, we joined @cityyearnh for its Opening Day celebration to welcome a new group of AmeriCorps members as they begin their year of service in @msd_nh.

We heard from City Year’s student success coaches about what inspired them to serve, and Foundation Vice President of Donor Engagement and Philanthropy Services Melinda Mosier, a former AmeriCorps member, shared reflections on her service year and offered advice to this year's coaches.

We’re grateful to City Year NH for its commitment to Manchester students and schools, and to the young people who have chosen to dedicate a year to making a difference. by @nhcfoundation

Louis Esposito of @able.nh is working to ensure disability justice isn't "siloed," but woven into the broader work for justice and equity for all.

At ABLE's annual Disability Pride Parade, he encouraged people to march together rather than as separate organizations.

"We are more powerful together."

📸 Sneak peek!

We spent a beautiful afternoon along the Exeter River with some of the people working to protect the Great Bay watershed.

Their work has helped promote efforts to foster habitat restoration, improve water quality, and reduce flooding risk — like the upcoming removal of Exeter’s Pickpocket Dam.

Recovery thrives through connection.

@nhhumanities' Connections program uses literature and guided discussions to help people recovering from substance use disorder strengthen family relationships and build meaningful connections within their communities.

The program is supported in part by a Responsive Grant from the Alice Hale Penniman Memorial Fund at the Charitable Foundation.

“Ultimately, we hope that our book discussions can help individuals impacted by substance use disorder maintain the stability, wellness, and community connection needed to successfully reintegrate into society,” says Mary Nolin, Connections program manager.

The Clarks always understood that robust civic health is essential to building strong communities.

Established in 2025, the Geoffrey E. Clark and Martha Fuller Clark Fund for Civic Health and Public Policy provides dedicated resources for supporting civic health, engagement and advocacy efforts in New Hampshire.

The fund builds on the lifelong commitment of former New Hampshire State Senator Martha Fuller Clark and the late Dr. Geoffrey Clark, whose generosity and public service have helped strengthen communities throughout the state.

The Charitable Foundation is committed to helping families achieve their philanthropic goals, and we're proud to partner with generous people like the Clarks to maximize the impact of their giving. Learn more on our website (link in bio). by @nhcfoundation
