The summer I spent too much time underground and not enough time in the sea.

Have taken a bit of a back-seat on social the last while.. can you believe me and @jakeandrewmccabe are SIX weeks from being married?? Thoroughly enjoying the planning experience and can’t wait to tell you about it / scream about it from the rafters. Thankful for (in no particular order):

A moment for one of the most whimsical things I have ever put on my body… Sustainably and very lovingly hand-crafted by Marie of @Cloudsinmycoffee____ — an emerging Irish designer who specialises in upcycled bridalwear, AKA the patron saint of brides who panic at the phrase “occasionwear”.

One thing that has surprised me about wedding planning is how many outfits you’re suddenly expected to wear that feel wildly unlike you. Reader, I feared the flammable polyester. I feared becoming a hen-do version of myself I did not recognise.

And then came this gorgeous custom three-piece organza set, rescued and upcycled from donated wedding dresses, which somehow made me feel like a Victorian lampshade, a cloud, and myself all at once.

It was rescued, and so, frankly, was I. 🤍 by @niamh_not_neeme

There is a particular kind of magic in throwing all the different women from your life into the back arse of midlands Ireland to celebrate YOU. If I could bottle that feeling! Part therapy, part chaos, part spiritual experience and, as it turns out, a fairly aggressive pelvic floor workout.

Thank you to my gang of extraordinary women for the most explosive belly laughs and unhinged dancing 🤍

What an honour to be invited to meet with the President of Ireland, Catherine Connolly, on her first official visit to London. She spoke proudly of the importance of the Irish community here, the intrinsic power of using our voice to reclaim our language and standing up for justice, and healing the bond between Ireland and Britain. I had the opportunity to speak to the importance of the Irish fashion industry, both as a rich cultural tapestry and a growing economic force and, naturally, we spoke about her gorgeous fuchsia suit, crafted in Ireland by Donegal designer @SarahLorraineIreland.

This isn’t an ad, I just have such a grá for @rixo and their King’s Road boutique, complete with in-house seamstress to fix snags, a second-hand section that’s heavily discounted, and a fully kitted-out art deco bar???
