Time flies . ✈️

Lately I've been realizing that it's not just time that moves fast—it's how easily we let it slip away doing everything ourselves. Spending time in African countries has taught me community in a way that the US does not practice.

I'm still learning to delegate. I'm still catching myself taking on too much because it's easier than explaining it to someone else. I'm not perfect, and I definitely don't have it all figured out. I still say yes to way too many things at work. The guilt of saying no sometimes can be overwhelming....shoot for me it is.

But I do know this: if you never try a different way, you'll never know what you're capable of creating—or what your life could feel like with a little more margin, a little more boundary.

So here's to trying. To letting go of "I got it." To making space for what actually matters.

Silent book club might be one of my new favorite things. 📚 Thanking my algorithm for bring me to @clegalsbookclub a few ways ago; Never heard of it before.

Went with my friend/medical assistant, brought different books, barely talked, and somehow still spent quality time together. They actually had a planned yap break, bougie food and beverages!!!

This made me pause and just vibe.
There's something special about sharing space with people without needing to fill every moment with conversation.

Just books, community, and a little peace. ✨

Lately, I've been paying more attention to the people and systems working quietly in the background. It's a theme I've been reflecting on a lot. I'm over hyper-independence,I'm just a girl 🎀

Better late than never. 🌈

Pride in the CLE fell on my birthday this year, making it an easy place to celebrate what I believe: everyone deserves equity, equitable healthcare, and the freedom to love and live authentically.

As a physician, educator, and advocate, I've learned that no one thrives alone. We all benefit from people who see us, support us, and help us carry the weight when life gets heavy. That's true in healthcare, in business, in relationships, and in our communities.

As I prepare for the June 30 launch of The Invisible Team, I've been reflecting on how much our success, healing, and growth often depend on the people working beside us—sometimes quietly, sometimes behind the scenes, but always making an impact. Allyship is one of those invisible acts of support that can change lives.

Outside cause I got TIME today.
And tomorrow. And the next tomorrow too. 👀

Not because life slowed down.
Not because I suddenly became less ambitious.
But because I stopped believing I had to carry everything alone.

Some of y’all are overworked, overwhelmed, and still answering “I got it” every time help is offered.

Meanwhile the people scaling quietly?
They built an invisible team, a back office.

Break them up in the buckets $10, $100, $1, 000 and $10,000 task... Decide which ones can't function without you and go from there!

I stopped doing $10 tasks that didn't serve me a long time ago.

Been outside, OUTSIDE all weekend while the Invisible Team handled the rest.

✅ Notes Prepared for Mondays meetings

This working on fine tuning, but sheesh it's better that it was. On the red eye ✈️, back to the office I go.

Y'all stop trying to everything yourself! Delegate the task and move on.

It's a privilege to serve! Every time I'm in Nigeria, I am reminded of how blessed I am. Life can be challenging, it has pain and sorrow but can also have so much meaning and purpose. Participating in these medical missions connects me deeply to my father's land, my ancestral land and my human nature of service.

My personal assistant helps to set up my logistics making that part of the trip pretty painless. Thank God!

I got tired y'all! Wake up. Gym. Work. Lecture. Leave work, but kept working. Repeat.

Each time I travel, I come back thinking, why the heck do American's work so much! I need something different and I'm slowly working on making my own path.

I stopped trying to be the "everything person" and started building my Invisible Team. Now, the global back office handles the heavy lifting while I enjoy the dinner views.

On this day, April 25th this woman did her thing. So proud of my line sister! So very grateful I was able to attend, and such a blessing my mom was down to ride!

Tired, exhausted after returning from Nigeria a few days prior but I would do it all over again! Flight got delayed, meaning I returned in the evening and went to work the next day, taught my residents, and ran a busy clinic before driving 1.5hr to pick up my mom and 4 hrs additional to ensure I didn't miss this graduation.

Love on the people that love on you♥️‼️

To be honest, I don't even think I would have been able to keep it all together without my support system! Now, my system includes delegating tasks so I can enjoy more of life and actually be present, mentally more than just physically.

This ANPA Medical Mission was different and difficult in ways I never thought possible. I did my usual but something unusual happened. I'm still taking it all in, still 2 weeks after returning. Started to feel like myself again yesterday but still not ready to be completely vulnerable in that space. We lost one and I am not the same.

I believe in healing, I believe in health equity, I believe in HIM.

More to come. May the legacy live on.

Out here doing a little #cincodemayo

I used to answer emails at 11PM… until I stopped.

I thought that’s what discipline looked like.
But really? It was lack of systems.
Now…
My inbox is handled.
My calendar runs smoother.
And I actually log off.

Nothing changed about my ambition—
I just stopped trying to do everything alone.
Outsourcing changed everything. Too many moving pieces for me to handle it all, so I don't.

There's no reward for suffering 🤷🏾‍♀️ no metal and no applause
