Dear Dad,

It’s been 90 days since you left us and 92 days since I last hugged you…..

Your grandkids are thriving, and I know you’d be proud. Erik is heading into his junior year, driving amazingly, and his summer baseball team is in the playoffs tomorrow. Ava starts her freshman year at Michigan State tomorrow—you would have loved moving her into her dorm.

Mom is doing well. We’re taking care of her, each other, and everything else as best we can.

We saw the family today, and next week we’ll all be together to celebrate your 89th birthday. I know you’ll be there with us. ❤️

I wonder… did you hear Dolly coming?

Work is moving along, and I’m excited about what’s ahead. I just wish you were here to hear about it, give me your opinion, and tell me how you’d do it differently. I’d give anything for those conversations.

Life keeps moving, but I still miss your voice, stories, advice, and knowing I could always call you.

We love you so much, Daddy. We miss you every day and are doing our best to make you proud.

What a day… one we’ll never forget. 💖🎓

Watching Ava celebrate this milestone surrounded by so many people who love her filled my heart. She has grown into such an amazing young woman, and we couldn’t be more proud. It’s hard to believe she’s heading off to Michigan State to begin her next adventure soon. 💚🤍

Thank you to everyone who came, celebrated with us, and made her day so special. Your love, support, and generosity meant the world to our family. Shout out to @angelaamarie0102 for her amazing skills, she helped put our charcuterie table together!! Cheers to our bartender and her crew @vleckc Our amazing neighbor Jill with @justa.bundts.and.more for our amazing mini Bundt cakes and our good friends @justdipped_treats for the delicious pretzels and dessert mix! And last but not least the skilled DJ Vince at @vincenzomusic_ !

The weather certainly kept us on our toes, but I’d like to think Dad sent us just enough sunshine when we needed it most. ❤️

I loved every football practice, every errand, every late-night drive, and every minute of being your chauffeur. I didn’t realize those little moments would become some of my favorites.

Dear Dad,

It’s been so long since I’ve talked to you. That Elvis selfie was our last one together, and I still can’t believe how long ago February feels. I wish I’d gone with you that night, but I’m so grateful we had dinner and that last selfie.

There have been so many selfies since then—some I got to tell you about, and so many I never will. That’s the hardest part.

The Fourth was so different without you. Mom’s doing pretty well, but if you could send her a little wink or sign to remind her you’re still watching over all of us, I know she’d love that. I know you are.

Erik is about to start driving & summer baseball, and Ava absolutely crushed Nationals. I’m going to miss watching her on stage, but I know she’ll find her next one.

Work is steady, and I’m working on a few exciting new things. I know you’d tell me to trust myself… but a little extra help from up there wouldn’t hurt. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has called, texted, messaged, prayed for us, and helped us honor my dad. The love and support our family has received has meant more than you’ll ever know.

The stories, memories, and tributes shared over the last week have reminded us just how many lives he touched. Since his passing, we’ve seen him honored at conferences, fundraisers, community events, on LinkedIn, and in countless conversations. Watching people continue to recognize his impact has been both humbling and comforting. His legacy of helping others and giving back to the community is far greater than we ever realized.

I still don’t have the words for any of this, except maybe that God must have needed some help with negotiations up there. We miss you every day, Dad. ❤️ by @nicannmic
