The only positive thing AI has ever done is cure me of my lifelong perfectionism. Wonky leaves? AI would never! Wavy quilt lines (because I was worried chalk would leave a mark so I used painter’s tape instead)? AI would never! Old Nicci would have ripped some of this out and tried for something that looked more perfect. New Nicci loves how obviously handmade this looks. Anyone who has ever bought a house knows that the waiting (all that suspense!) is often the hardest part. Here’s the quilt project that got me through it. I finally, finally figured out which of the incredible mini prints to order from @mothandbone_studio 🖼️

I made a little stained glass frame for one of them today and put the other into a thrifted frame I’ve been dying to fill. I bought one more print and I’m just waiting for framing inspiration to strike! by @nicciwestbrook

Over Labor Day my @westbrook.eddy made an extremely triangular frame for this vintage pennant we bought. I was originally thinking I’d throw some fabric behind it when it came time to frame it, but I didn’t have enough of the color I wanted. Then I figured a frame this special could use a special background so I whipped up some simple patchwork today, et voila! by @nicciwestbrook

I made a quilt jacket one million years ago with this beautiful, distressed flower basket quilt and I set aside the scraps to someday sew into an #orbitbag Well, someday was today!

This is my second Orbit Bag and this time I added tons of interior organization (swipe if you like bag guts!) so binding was…demanding. But I did it and I’m so proud of the results!
