What did I do, specifically, that deserved a 4-year ban? Why was I singled out for discipline? Who benefits from my punishment?

It takes me time to share these videos. I have been warned by USA Gymnastics that speaking publicly about my case could result in additional punishment, so my legal team reviews every word before I post.

So, speaking up may have a cost… but so does silence. Our community deserves rights and protections we do not currently have.

What a week. What a year…

If you’ve been following along, you know this has been one of the tougher years of my life. But, what others may mean for harm, God can turn for good. And in response to the adversity this team has faced this year, they stayed the course, they found their feet, and their performances spoke louder than my words ever could:

Junior National Champions. Senior National Champion. 15 athletes and 16 podium finishes. USA DMT Coach of the Year. *Unofficially* qualified athletes to EDP, WAGC, NT, JR Worlds, and World Championships. We saved Synchro, twice. We stayed focused on our mission, we stayed true to our character. We spoke truth. We spoke love. We had an amazing time cheering on each other and supporting all of Team USA.

This season tested us. It tested me. It continues to. But it will not break us. It will not break me. I am so proud of these athletes, these families, and this team.

And the story... through its incredible highs and very tough lows... is still nowhere close to finished. Onward we march. Forward we look. Progress and change we will make.

Before I could do a cartwheel, I didn’t know how. Before I learned to backflip, I couldn’t do that either. But eventually, I mastered cartwheels, backflips, doubles, and beyond. What I really learned along the way, though, was how to face a challenge—how to break it down, listen to the advice of those who knew more, and be uplifted by the support of a team.

Gymnastics, to me, is not just a sport; it’s a lens through which life becomes grander. It’s a filter that turns giant challenges into opportunities and transforms our greatest difficulties into our greatest strengths. My 20 years in this sport have taught me to rebound from life’s lows and to reach, daily, for new heights while running full steam ahead towards my obstacles and dreams.

I struggle daily to find adequate words to express how grateful I am to have had mentors pour into me, and how honored I am that I get to pour into others. So, where words fail, let my actions speak and the doors of my gym swing open.

Thank you, gymnastics; thank you to every single friend through gymnastics that I have made; thank you to every single athlete through gymnastics that I have coached… thank you for making my life richer than an entire world of bronze, silver, and gold.

Standing tuck from the foundation to the finished product. These videos were only taken about 4 months apart from each other, but they took nearly 19 years of work to create.

Honestly, still trying to find the words to describe how blessed I feel and how grateful I am to be part of such an amazing team. Thousands of people had a hand in making this gym a reality… thousands of people bought in to the idea that we could love and empower kids through this amazing sport. Thousands of people answered the call to be used in this moment for this mission for eternally significant impact.

I can’t wait to serve thousands more with this opportunity that we have been given.

“The Trampoline Checklist” is a companion journal to the original trampoline fundamentals textbook. Each check box correlates to a skill or progression listed in the primary textbook.

This booklet is intended to help athletes track their progress on their trampoline adventure and record their successes. Additionally, it helps us all ensure that every safe progression is accomplished before difficult next steps are attempted.
