Do you need a book that’s going to soothe you, calm you and send you off to sleep? Well absolutely don’t choose this one then because you’ll still be reading late into the night!

Imagine a key so magical… it actually tells you how to use it!

Rachel finds herself as the official Keeper of the Key, but there’s just one tiny problem… she can’t refuse it. So when a young girl is taken and smuggled away to Hinterland, Rachel has no choice but to follow the Key’s demands and so she sets off on a seriously dangerous adventure.

Join Rachel as she travels along the Shoreline of Villainy, past the Liars’ Lair, Burglars’ Burrow and Killers’ Caves, with a magical phone number that only appears in absolute emergencies and a rather ominous meeting at Tyrants’ Tower.

This one had me hook, line and sinker. Full of adventure, magic, danger and plenty of twists! You say ‘just one more chapter’… but you’re still reading an hour later!

12-year-old Evie Baker is a talented baker as well as a gifted storyteller. She dreams of leaving her small town for an exciting real-life adventure. Using her family’s irresistible raspberry tart recipe as bait to lure out a Fel (magical crow-like creature), Evie accidentally stumbles into a nest of thieves where she comes face-to-face with the infamous Robber Lord.

I loved this book! It is chock full of magic, fun, and friendship. Another fantastic book cover by Kister.

Thrilled that ⏳⚙️THE TIME ENGINE⚙️⏳ is out today with @barringtonstoke 🎉
.
This is my second historical adventure novella with this brilliant publisher after last years 🧪THE ELIXIR🧪. This time featuring the young Ada Lovelace - famed in her later life for helping invent the first computing machines.
.
In ⏳⚙️THE TIME ENGINE⚙️⏳ Ada has no idea that her design sketches will be discovered in 110 years and built by her future ancestor. She's about to greet a visitor from the future who simply shouldn't be possible! Can Eric and Ada get him home before the fabric of time is disrupted with possibly dire consequences? 😱
.
The illustrations are by supreme talent Kristina Kister @nichtlicht and I'm obsessed with them 🙌
.
I love writing for Barrington Stoke! I'm a neurodiverse person in a neurodiverse household with a teaching background and love creating brilliant stories for our most treasured audience - those who might not find reading easy and deserve to have the best quality stories made accessible. So thrilled to have this story out in The National Year of Reading. Another book is already in the works ... 🤫@da_childrens @clarewall.ace
