“Lives by a mindset of persistence, never giving up and doing whatever it takes to move forward’ 🗣️

Meet Nick @nick.guerrap 🇪🇨

Nick grew up in East London without a strong sense of Latinx community around him, often feeling the need to adapt in order to fit in with other minority groups. At home, however, his parents spoke Spanish and maintained their Ecuadorian culture. This left him feeling caught between two worlds-never quite Ecuadorian enough when he was back home, and never fully British enough where he was raised. As a result, he struggled with his sense of identity, unsure of how to define himself, which took a mental toll.

In trying to fit in, Nick found himself in difficult situations and picked up unhealthy habits, including smoking, something he has since left behind. Those struggles also contributed to weight gain, and at his heaviest, he reached 116kg. Determined to make a change, he turned to running and committed himself to training, ultimately losing the weight and transforming his lifestyle.

Through that journey, Nick began to build something for himself. He lives by a mindset of persistence, never giving up and doing whatever it takes to move forward. For Nick, his reason behind it all is personal. He is showing himself that he can now achieve things that once felt impossible, trusting that in the end, everything will work out as it’s meant to.
