A “limited-term appointment” (LTA) is a contract limited to a term without guarantee of reappointment or tenure.

LTAs looked forward to a better contractual security, but Concordia University will not be renewing their contracts.

Anthony Maruca and I spoke to fourth-year communications student Lara Fakhoury, who advocates for an assistant-professor that is about to lose his job. Over 260 students in the program responded in an open-letter form to show their support to the faculty member.

We also spoke to a LTA contract holder in a different program to whom we granted anonymity because they fear academic repercussions for their future.

Ciprian Alecsandru, president of Concordia University Faculty Association (CUFA), said 58 LTA contracts are expiring next year and Concordia will not advertise these positions again for 2026-2027.

Concordia spokesperson Julie Fortier said 63 faculty members are on LTAs.

According to car owners from and outside the island, Montreal is considered a difficult place to park.

With many signs, exceptions, permits and more to look out for, it can be a real challenge to find parking.

We examined the Montreal parking situation to know how to park and contest parking tickets.

We spoke with George Koulouris, who lived in CDN-NDG for almost 40 years. He has noticed how parking has become increasingly difficult over the years.
