Dear Mom, today marks ten years since I’ve said my last good bye. A lot has changed since that first snow in 2014, your boy found the girl of his dreams & I know you would’ve loved her! The wedding was beautiful and I missed you so much, in your place I danced with your best friend Mirna, my new Mother In Law, and my Step Mother, but in my heart I wished it was you. I felt your love the whole day but it was tough without you here. This day was filled with overflowing love, beauty, God and heartbreak and that is a great microcosm of the last 10 years of my life. It has undoubtedly been the most challenging difficult beautiful blessed stage I’ve lived thus far and I hope you’re proud looking down. I Love You ❤️ by @nick_hate

Happy Mothers Day @ashleymichellehaight it’s been so long since I’ve truly been excited for this Holliday although I still mourn my Mother it has been the joy of my life watching you become one, you are the perfect woman to raise our lil Harper, virtuous patient & kind. I’m so happy to celebrate a day like this with my Girls. I hope Harper grows to be just like her mamma! Thankyou God for answered prayers ❤️ by @nick_hate

She is sillier and cuter than ever!

Words won’t do justice for Sadie but I will try..

Sadie you came into my life when I needed you most, in a time of deep mourning you gave me purpose and pulled me from sorrow. You gave joy just by existing & your sweet nature was something that healed me from the inside. We learned how to hunt together, you climbed 14’ers, all 4 passes in the maroon bells wilderness, camped, backpacked and fished in every corner of our great state. You rode not shotgun but on the center console of every adventure we embarked on and I loved every second of it. You were my soul dog and comforted me when I was weak, when having hard times you pressed your face to mine to let me know you were there and I can never repay you for those moments getting me through. Later in life you watched on as I met Ashley, you travelled back and fourth to Denver until we convinced her to move into the country, you witnessed her become my Wife and became Kai’s Sister and Best Friend. You were there every step of pregnancy and went through our Home Birth when you finally got to meet Harper.

Sometimes I feel like you knew your job was complete, and you fought cancer for two hard years until you knew I could be okay without you. Now I have to bury my Best friend and all of the feelings come rushing back. Pain, Sorrow & Deep Mourning but you knew this day would come and I’m in a place now where I can go on without you as hard as it may seem tonight. They say “The perfection of life with a gun dog, much like the perfection of an Autumn, is disturbing because you know, even as it begins, that it must end. Time bestows the gift and steals it in the process”

If I have learned anything It is how true that is, Sadie I Love You. Thankyou for being the best friend I could ever ask for I’ll see you again. Rest In Peace. by @nick_hate

11 Years ago today was the worst day of my life, 1 year ago today it was the best. We found out Ashley was pregnant on the 10th anniversary of my Mothers death. God is gracious, we live in sorrow & heartbreak only to be blessed in it. Mom I promise Harper will know her Grandma’s heart because it lives on in me. I miss you today as much as 11 years ago.. maybe more if possible. We love you so much. taken in Heaven by @nick_hate

The cruel irony of loss is never speaking your heart to a person until they aren’t around to hear it. Nathan you were my first best friend, the memories of two kids running around grandpas farm will be the times I will always go back to when I think of you. You had a mind that saw things different, you challenged me made me think deeper and your laugh was infectious. I wish I had told you more how much you meant to me. Our last conversation was about my mom. You told me you believed she saw my wedding day from above. That she was proud, watching with love. Now you’ll get to find out for yourself. I know she’s thrilled to have you with her. So are Grandma & Grandpa The thought of you all together brings me peace, even as my heart aches. Harper’s First Camping Trip!!
She did great 3 days in the hills and provided the perfect excuse to finally buy a canvas tent for hunting season.. lots of perks to this Dad stuff. by @nick_hate
