I placed 3rd for tattoo of the day @asburytattoofest yesterday it’s been 3 years of hard work… This day especially was super emotional for me thank you to @jackie1ewis for filling in the spot for some one that is no longer with us can’t wait to come back again.. On September 7, 2026 Dr Alvear and Dr Suntay saved my life.

My original surgery was scheduled for September 4. I arrived in the Philippines at 6am September 2, and when I landed the transport team came and picked me directly up from the airport and took me straight to the hospital.

We spent all day on the 2nd and the 3rd having me hooked up to TPN, fluids, antibiotics - everything you name it. The evening of September 3rd my husband (yes, now husband) flew across the world to be here with me for surgery. Roughly 20 minutes after he arrived I got the news that I was unfortunately not stable enough to go under on September 4. My body has held on to its very last thread until I arrived. It was almost as if my body knew it could try and relax now that I was here - but by relax, it was my body finally trying to say its goodbyes and shut down for good.

After the news that I was too weak for surgery came, it was devastating at the time but the right choice. It was hard to hear because I knew how crucial the coming days would be.

Later that evening we decided let’s get married here in the hospital. Anna and I are both ordained and able to marry people, so we were joking and saying “what if you married Nick and I while I’m here”. And we did.

My wedding dress from my bed sheets. A garter made out of rubber gloves. A bouquet of flowers from tissues. Gummy candy for rings.

The next day things took a full turn for the worst. September 4 came and my body fully collapsed and shut down. I don’t remember much, but as I was slipping away in and out of consciousness, Nick was there physically holding me up, holding my head up, repeatedly saying my name, telling me it’s not my time, kept physically opening my eyes, as I was starting to pass away literally in his arms.

My team worked around the clock to stabilize me those next few days, and they got my just stable enough to where we did surgery September 7.

That is the day Dr Alvear and Dr Suntay saved my life. If I didn’t come to the Philippines, I would have died 10 days ago.

These past two weeks have been a blur filled with adrenaline, and a fight I’ve never fought before. I’m thankful to be alive. 🙏🏼 taken in Medical Center Muntinlupa, Inc. by @nick_liscombe

Each winner will receive a collaboration tattoo from me and Aidan. All three tattoo appointments will take place in 2027, once Aidan is fully recovered and able to return to tattooing.

Aidan’s hospital stay has been extended to ensure she has the time and care needed for a safe and speedy recovery. She needs a little more help covering her hospital bills, and every entry will go toward supporting her recovery.
