Rog and @nick_pappss completed their second NH 4ker on Pierce. The rains of the day prior opened up for blue skies. The parking lots and road parking was at capacity, probably due to the long weekend and the crowds trying to catch a glimpse of these hikers on trail. Today I close a chapter that has shaped so much of who I am

The restaurant floor found me when I was lost. It gave me purpose, challenged me, humbled me, and taught me lessons that I’ll carry for the rest of my life. Being a young manager was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but also one of the most rewarding. The floor can be unforgiving, but it’s also one of the most welcoming places in the world. It has a way of turning strangers into teammates and teammates into family

I’ve always believed restaurants are a home for traveling souls, people crossing paths for a moment in time, leaving a piece of themselves behind before moving on to their next adventure. I’m grateful that my path led me here

What I’ll miss most isn’t the job. It’s the people. To every team I’ve had the privilege of leading and working beside, thank you. You challenged me, trusted me, supported me, and became some of my closest friends. More than that, you became family. Every long shift, every early morning, every late night, and every holiday spent at the restaurant was worth it because I got to spend it with all of you.

I don’t know if I’ll ever feel worthy of how much you gave me, but I know I’ll be grateful for it forever.

Thank you for every lesson, every laugh, every difficult day, and every memory. You’ll always be a part of me, and I hope in some small way I’ll always be a part of your story too. by @nick_pappss
