Planning a Korea🇰🇷 trip? Here are 3 things we do when travelling in Korea: 1. Use Wise card for food and shopping. When converting our money into Korean Won, Wise uses the mid-market exchange rate and shows the conversion fee upfront, so we know what we’re paying. 2. Choose Korean won at checkout when the payment machine gives us a currency choice. The machine’s conversion can come with a marked-up exchange rate! 3. Always bring passports when shopping and ask about tax refunds on eligible purchases. Some stores process it there; otherwise, we keep the tax-refund receipts to claim at the airport. More money for shopping and KBBQ?! Always a good thing. Save this for your South Korea trip adventures! Get a free Wise debit card or your first transfer fee-free up to $1,000 through our link or in bio🔗 https://wise.com/invite/irhn/helmiy4 Offer T&Cs apply. NEW Sydney food spot you gotta try!😋 We checked out Ame @ame.sydney - a Japanese-Peruvian (Nikkei) restaurant from @itsescagroup like Joji & Aalia and these were our favourites: 🐄Aburi wagyu and foie gras nigiri—the umami hit was so good! 🐓Chicken arepa—succulent chicken with a tangy kick, served like a little taco 🍞Kombu brioche with corn and miso butter. Crispy outside, fluffy inside. Could’ve easily eaten more of this🤤 🦆Duck rice with dashi broth and shimeji mushrooms—that crunchy rice with the duck was such a good combo. Worth checking out to try Nikkei cuisine 🇯🇵🇵🇪 #sydneyrestaurant #sydneyfood #sydneyfoodies #sydneyeats #nikkeicuisine by @nickandhelmi
COSTCO FINDS!🥭 Went to Costco and stumbled across this Mango Lassi at one of their tasting booths, so of course we had to give it a try! And honestly, it was pretty good! Creamy, refreshing and not overly sweet, which is a big YES from us!👍🏻 #costcofinds #costcoaustralia #costcoshopping #mangolassi #sydneyfoodies by @nickandhelmi
How to travel Japan without luggage 🧳😎 This is what we always do when we travel around Japan, instead of dragging our luggages on Shinkansen, bus etc, we just forward it to our next hotel! It’s called takkyubin, and we normally use Yamato Transport (black cat logo). Just ask your hotel reception or a participating convenience store, fill in the delivery form and pay the fee. We’ve used it on our travels through Tokyo, Kyoto, Fuji and Utsunomiya—and having fewer bags on trains and station stairs is such a relief🙌 Allow 1–2 days depending on your route, confirm your next hotel can receive your bags, and keep your essentials with you. Save this Japan luggage forwarding tip for your next Japan trip🇯🇵 For discounted Japan activities, hotels, tickets book on Klook and use FUNTRAVELKLOOK for $$ off! #japantravel #japantraveltips #japanlife #tokyotravel #japanwithkids by @nickandhelmi
This HOTEL in Korea has an actual indoor theme park😳 This is Paradise City in Incheon and yeap it’s big!! Decided to stay here because it’s next to the airport so kind of perfect if you are about to fly from Korea. There’s an indoor theme park inside, a Korean jjimjilbang. Then you’ve got kids’ play areas, arcades and an indoor plaza with heaps of food options. If you are here do check out the electric scooters, that was fun riding around the plaza. For the room, we booked the basic Deluxe room and still had plenty of luggage space, plus a complimentary minibar that was restocked each day of our stay. Niceeee 😂 And this was also featured at Single’s Inferno Season 1! This hotel in Korea has a waterpark inside! INSANE🤯 This is INSPIRE Entertainment Resort in Incheon, we decided to stay here because, why not pamper ourselves😏and honestly, we didn’t realise how much big it was inside! An indoor waterpark with slides and a lazy river, arcade games, gacha machines, even a bowling alley…😱 Even the food court was beautiful, and having a CU downstairs made our Korean snack runs way too easy. The best was this digital ceiling!🤯Seriously, look at this place! And having such a spacious room to come back to afterwards was definitely great as a family. Also, if it looks familiar, this was “Paradise” in Single’s Inferno Season 5! Tokyo hotel rooms are tiny? Wait until you see this one!👀🇯🇵 HOTEL GROOVE SHINJUKU might be our favourite hotel we’ve stayed at in Tokyo—and this room is a big reason why! We had a huge entrance hallway with plenty of luggage space, a record player, vanity area, a bar next to the bedroom and even a washing machine in the bathroom! Add a bathtub and floor-to-ceiling windows wrapping around the room with stunning views over Shinjuku Station… we honestly didn’t want to leave. By far the most spacious hotel room we’ve stayed in Tokyo, right in the heart of Shinjuku😍 📍HOTEL GROOVE SHINJUKU, Tokyo, Japan Save this for your Japan trip! #tokyohotel #tokyo #shinjuku #japantravel #japanhotel by @nickandhelmi
