Proud to be part of @forwardfurniture_club during Dutch Design Week 2026 @dutchdesignweek in Eindhoven.

Curated by @livvaisberg Forward Furniture brings together around 100 emerging and established designers working in and around collectible design. Each designer presents three pieces from one coherent collection, offering a broader view into their visual language, methods and practice.

For the exhibition, NICK BEENS STUDIO presents MATERIAL OBSESSIONS: three objects connected by an ongoing fascination with material, production and form.

Rather than treating each piece as an isolated object, the collection shows how different materials, techniques and constructions can become part of one evolving studio narrative.

Exciting news ✨

NICK BEENS STUDIO will present the LOKI STOOL during @3daysofdesign in Copenhagen as part of the @deoron DEORON COPENHAGEN exhibition.

The theme of this 3dayofdesign, Make This Moment Matter, resonates strongly with the way I approach design. Through material, craftsmanship and form, I aim to create objects that encourage reflection on their origins. Where they come from, how they are made and the memories, places and stories that inspired me to create them.

The LOKI STOOL was born from a fascination for simplicity, craftsmanship and a place that inspired me. Designed to be used, moved, stacked and lived with, it is an object that quietly connects people, spaces and experiences over time.

I am grateful to share this piece with an international audience and to represent a small independent studio from the Netherlands amongst so many inspiring designers.

See you in Copenhagen.

Introducing the MONO Floor Lamp 🟡

Created within my studio practise MATERIAL OBSESSIONS, MONO grew out of experiments with wood veneer during the VAK YOU UP trajectory at Vaktor Makershuis. @vaktormakershuis

The prototypes explore the translucency of veneer: by day, MONO appears as a solid wooden column. When illuminated, a hidden pattern of circles emerges through the surface.

Making its debut at @forwardfurniture_club curated by @livvaisberg during Dutch Design Week 2026. @dutchdesignweek

Introducing the MONO Floor Lamp✨

Just in time for Dutch Design Week 2026, I’m excited to unveil my latest design for the very first time!

MONO Floor Lamp explores my fascination with the translucent qualities of wood veneer. What initially appears to be a solid wooden column reveals a hidden pattern of illuminated circles, creating an unexpected interplay of light, shadow and natural wood grain.

Inspired by Midcentury design, the warm interiors of the 1970s and the mysterious atmosphere of light filtering through a forest.

A sculptural object that balances a bold, minimal silhouette with a soft and inviting glow.

These prototypes evolved from my research in the translusancy of wood veneers during my participation at @vaktormakershuis VAK YOU UP. Noe it will officially debut at Dutch Design Week 2026, as part of Forward Furniture, curated by Liv Vaisberg.

I’m looking forward to sharing this new piece with you in Eindhoven 💖

Sometimes you need to take some steps back and look at your own designs. Scraping and sending the pink paint off these first alluminium bee heavenly prototypes reveiling the raw alluminium fitting way better in the landscape, naturally balancing instead of claiming it’s presents.

The Bee Totems are an ode to our insects and bee’s, providing polination and brining new life as a centre piece within the urban space. The concept was designed for Future More Collective and were auctioned on @catawiki back in 2018 after being presented at Dutch Design Week @dutchdesignweek in Eindhoven at the Pullman Hotel Eindhoven @pullmanhotels as part of the collective exhibition ‘Future Mythologies’ in collaboration with @artdumay. The Bee Totems were featured in @framemagazine 🐝

LOKI STOOL finished with Haderslev Satin Wood Oil by Linolie.dk

Every LOKI STOOL is handcrafted from solid FSC certified ash and finished by hand with Haderslev Satin Wood Oil by the Danish manufacturer Linolie.dk. This natural, pigmented linseed oil enriches the character of the wood while allowing its grain and texture to remain beautifully visible.

Rather than covering the material, the oil becomes part of it, creating a deep, velvety satin finish that feels warm to the touch and develops even more character over time. The finish is highly durable, making it perfectly suited for everyday use while preserving the honest appearance of solid wood.

Available in a range of colours, each finish highlights the natural qualities of the ash while giving every LOKI STOOL its own distinct character.
