This year I lost 50 pounds. It’s actually incredible what a little salad and a lot of therapy can do.
.
Life teaches you great strategy inside of tough losses — more than anything you might learn from putting one in the win column. So every day since April 5th, I’ve chosen growth.
.
Like the “boy and the horse”…you may only be able to see one step in front of you. Today, that’s the only one you need to take…also always lift like your gym crush is watching. That helps too.

I was proud to be able to attend the @imadanceragainstcancer “Gala of the Stars.” Thank you to @marinspirations for inviting me as her plus one!! 🙏 It’s always fun to walk the carpet with you!

Dancers Against Cancer does an incredible job lending financial and emotional support to dance educators, choreographers, and dancers and their families who have been impacted by cancer.

An overwhelming support from the dance community brought out all the heavy hitters raising over $760,000 that night.

The pinnacle of the evening was @janetjackson presenting @missymisdemeanorelliott with The Icon Award. Missy completely stole our hearts by asking all the dancers to stand during her acceptance speech saying “We are all icons. Dancers are not a prop. We are not a set piece. We are not the appetizer. We are the full course meal!”

Among others honored were Vincent Patterson, @officialtonibasil and @itsjojosiwa .

We are one community. A community of the human condition. One that fights through extreme hardship, Herculean barriers, and intense obstacle. That connection is what makes us who we are at the core. Never to be forgotten is the healing dance brings each of us as individuals, but moreover is the healing we are privileged to share with one another. It is inside the burden of love that we accept this responsibility. This is our renewable strength. This is our way.

Thanks @katmburns for reminding me you can have both fun & “a nervous breakdown” at the same time. @tmillystudio — pleasure dancing with my trio partners @jules.mckelvey & @criscangero

Choreographers are FINALLY & OFFICIALLY protected under a SAG-AFTRA union agreement for film and television work. It’s been a long time coming. Thanks to the hard work of @katmburns @brianfriedman @danadaners @charmladonna @kylehanagami @luamky & the entire list of those leading up to this moment who’ve fought to strengthen this guild. Truly a monumental moment in dance history.
