My heart feels so heavy today. Thinking of the MBR beagles suffering in this heatwave and being unable to get them out.

This is such a stain on our country. All this cruelty and neglect and to what end!?

For people who have commented elsewhere that these dogs are still needed for medical research, please message me, so I can provide you with the correct information, as of 2026.

These are our companions, they hold a special place in our homes and in our society. For those who have been sharing my posts and stories - I see you, thank you x

Thank you so much @sian_berry, for speaking up on behalf of your constituents and giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves. 🐾

Every day this cruel system continues is another day of unnecessary suffering for these innocent dogs. It is time for meaningful change.

We are especially grateful for taking the time to listen to our evidence, engage with our concerns and help us challenge this injustice through Parliament.

I've always loved Liverpool, and today I love it even more! :)

What an incredible example of British scientific innovation! Professor Janet Hemingway and the pioneering team at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine are showing us what the future of MEANINGFUL medical research can look like.

Robotics, AI and human-relevant science are opening up exciting possibilities for replacing animal experiments.

This is exactly the kind of scientific progress we should be celebrating, investing in and accelerating. @bbcmerseyside

These two amazing, intelligent and determined women, alongside a group of incredibly committed researchers, have spent years painstakingly gathering a dossier of evidence to hold the @ukhomeoffice to account.

Years of research, parlimentary questions, FOIs, scrutiny and persistence that expose serious failures in transparency, oversight and accountability surrounding animals used in science.

This evidence matters. And it deserves answers.

Our sleepy little Willow ❤️ Someone said to me recently, “But what if your cat got sick? You’d want them to get better.”

What a ridiculous argument. Of course I would!

But why breed other cats for the most cruel cat experiments, when alternatives already exist? 2026-its Nonsensical.

Marshall BioResources breeds cats in their thousands for these needless experiments.

Thank you for the incredible welcome we received from the local community of Huntington yesterday, many of whom also want to see this dog-breeding facility closed. @benobesejecty @huntsgreenparty

We marched peacefully and respectfully through the town, and local people stopped to speak to us, some in tears. Good people know when something is inherently wrong.

It’s time for better science.
It’s time for change. @ukhomeoffice @joshua.reynolds.mp

And it’s time to give the MBR beagles a route into loving homes and for the Government to turn its commitment to phase out animal testing into meaningful action.

Enough is enough for these dogs.

For most of my life, I have trusted our government and accepted that those in authority knew best. I have worked in public service for 30 years and, for much of that time, rarely questioned the systems around me.

What I have learned through the terrible situation at MBR Acres has changed that.

I feel deeply ashamed that this is happening in our country, under a system overseen by the @ukhomeoffice.

But last Saturday reminded me of something else: good people will stand up when something is wrong.

Hundreds of ordinary, decent, compassionate people came together peacefully for the dogs held at MBR Acres. People from every walk of life, united by one simple belief: these dogs deserve better.

That gave me enormous hope.

We @savethedogsuk will keep asking questions. We will keep demanding transparency and change. We will keep speaking for these dogs.

And we will not stop until those cages are empty. by @nickibromley

Yesterday, surrounded by hundreds of people marching for the MBR beagles, Dave, who is a rescued MBR beagle, along with other gorgeous dogs sat right at the heart of it all.

Living, breathing reminder of exactly what we, and many other fantastic campaigns are fighting for. @savethedogsuk

Dave is curious. He is affectionate. He seeks comfort, companionship and love. He isn't a piece of laboratory equipment. And neither are the beagles being bred behind the fences at MBR Acres.
