It's been a long time since I wrote a little something about street art.

Here's a quick article about a nice streetart festival @arts_urbains_laon in @villedelaon , France, organized by @he_art4all which features many talented artists.

Special mention to our friends from Quebec and Ontario.

Merci/Thanks to @bewaremagazine for always trusting me. 💕 taken in Laon, France by @nickiemtl

It's been a while...
February 19, 2015. Cegep du Vieux-Montréal.

@mtl.zoo
It was a great exhibition of works by mainly Montreal street artists.
I remember how impressed I was to meet the artists Fonki, Olivier Bonar and several others for the first time.

Thank you for your warm welcome 💕

Always a pleasure to discover or rediscover an artwork by this great lady.

Born in Cape Town, this South African interdisciplinary artist painted this multi-storey Oryx for the 2018 edition of the @vanmuralfest.

*** The mural have been kept in good condition.

The city of halifax (N.S) is a #goldnugget for streetart lovers 💕

Here, a wondeful mural made by @robotkin in 2015 - an octopus wrestles a fish and a heron (on a pile of candy) for the @seawalls_ project.

Unfortunately, this mural is now just a souvenir because of the construction of a big building in 2022.

The @halifaxmuralfestival is happening this week (July3-10th) which explains my visit, this week, to this beautiful Canadian coastal city.

Stay tuned for more photos and information on the streetart of this region.

Last night, @projet.tyxna was able to show us in beautiful ways that they are not only accomplished muralists (we already knew that) but that they can deliver a global artistic performance.

And what a performance!
They immersed us in the world of the Main of the 1930s, with actors, dancers, musicians, and an old newsstand as a backdrop. A very beautiful staging that the public seemed to appreciate while dancing until closing time of @blvdstlaurent

Moreover, thanks to a very successful animation (congratulations to @fuser_mtl ), they managed to introduce their new version of the "Grandma of the Hand" and we already love it.

Congratulations guys. You know that I love you with love 💕 but there, you managed to amaze me.🌟🌟🌟

With @ankh_one , @dodo_ose , @zek156 and great work by @deejay-horg for his dj set.

You have set the bar high for the future.

It is my pleasure to introduce to you to another amazing #torontostreetartist : @shalakattack (for those who do not know her).

I met Shalak 8 years ago in Montreal during an “off-Mural” event – The Family (I will tell you about it in a future post).

Since then, I have had often the opportunity to see her work and follow her development.

There are artists whose style is easily recognizable as it is specific and particular. So it is with Shalak.

Very elaborate paintings with a technique of multi-layers of blending colors that make his artworks unique.

Throughout the Greater Toronto Area, her art can be found everywhere: walls, overpasses, bridge pillars and more. But you can also see her works in Montreal and also to Miami,vBelgium, Brazil, Chile, Jordan Israel, and Sweden, among others.

Born in Montreal with Chilean parents, the multidisciplinary artist is currently based in Toronto, Canada. She is not only a muralist but also a canvas painter, illustrator, jewelry maker, tattoo artist, and ++

In an interview for Street Art Bio, she said: “For me, spray paint is my voice, and I choose to define my femininity as intelligence, as inner beauty and creativity, a powerful and stubborn strength that will not give up.”- Ref. https://www.streetartbio.com/artists/shalak-attack/

Although an artist in her own right, Shalak often works with her husband and artistic collaborator, “Bruno Smoky” - a story that began in 2010. Together, they are the co-founders of the collective Clandestinos. They created colorful murals that are like stories. A mixture of realism and imagination.

Shalak will be part of @muralfestival this year. You can see her at work behind the Mont-Royal metro starting tomorrow.

Accomplished artists, he can do realistic large murals, and canvases but also funny cartoons and amazing graffitis.

I try to practice gratitude ~ every day trying to find 3 little joys.

Yesterday, the collective exhibition Bald and Bones and, in particular, the works of Do Lessard aka @opire203 , were one of these.

Described as a pop surrealist painter, I met him as a muralist. I was immediately impressed by his amazing talent and delighted by his simplicity, his unfussy side, and his candid smile.

He is also part of the crew 203 , a group of talented #artist /#graffitiartist / #streetartartist from the @villesherbrooke .

I'll let you make up your own opinion by looking at his artworks exhibited at the Maison de la Culture Janine Sutto, Montréal until June 11th.

*** Do not hesitate to zoom in order to appreciate all the details. 👌

To celebrate International Earth Day, I present to you the work of the B.C. based artist Tyler Toews, aka Ty Mural guy or @canadianmurals .

This is a series of 7 murals painted on trash bins that I found in 2020 in an alley of Gastown in @vancouver

"Waste wear" - "addresses issues surrounding pollution and climate change, both in our communities and the wider world. The collection seeks to spark conversations around the current and future impacts of garbage on the planet, and the need for not just greater awareness, but action," ref. Tyler instagram.
