Nick Johnson is playing guitar for Widespread Panic while Jimmy Herring is out and has previously played with Col. Bruce Hampton, while being a longtime member of Randall Bramblett Band and Ansley & the Hold. He is an unreal guitarist with such precision and control. To say I’m honored would be a complete understatement. Jimmy Herring is one of the greatest humans and musicians you could ever be fortunate enough to encounter. Being entrusted to keep the seat (throne in his case!) warm during this time is not something I take lightly!
I am very grateful to the @widespreadpanic band, crew and whole organization for being so welcoming to me amidst the circumstances. Thankful for all the love, encouragement and patience from my family, bandmates, and friends old and new. THANK YOU to everyone who has sent kind messages and calls! It means the world and I promise to catch up soon! See yous down the road, and in the meantime, please be sending all the love, strength and healing energy to Jimmy so he can beat this thing and come back and kick ass like only he can! by @nickj_73
