When I was about 5, I remember asking my mom if I could marry her. I was that enamored by her. She was my favorite person & the only person I wanted to be around for, at least, the first 10 years of my life. She was just that good of a mother. To say mother seems so undersold. Superwoman is a better term.

That love she walked through life with was the most powerful beacon of lessons. She loved everyone. Truly. She gave everyone more than one chance.

I’ve never in my life loved someone more than my mom. Still to this day, nothing even comes close. And I know nothing ever will. To say I’m a momma’s boy is an understatement. It’s so much more than that.

She taught me how to dance. She taught me how to cook. She taught me how to love. She taught me to love plants. She taught me to love the earth. She showed me the spiritual realm. She showed me that there is so much more to this world than the mundane. She taught me how to speak. She taught me how to walk. She taught me what it meant to be comfortable being myself. She showed me what good music is. She showed me what R&B is. She showed me who Ricky Martin is. She showed me how much lyrics should mean to you. She pushed me to go as far and hard as I possibly could, and as long as I did my best, she was thrilled. She showed me what someone being proud of you felt like.

From having Tina Lynn Clark as my mother, I learned how to be a good human just by watching her. She never had to instill a certain belief into me. She just moved with love. And that’s all it ever will be. Love. by @nickkiness

“Miner’s First Tears” (16x20)
an ode to Nicholas Creede & the origin of “Sowbelly” agate.

A big part of who I am as an artist, being from the Appalachians, is using what I already have. I’ve had these @cymbiotika packagings and knew with the color schemes I had to incorporate the absolute best, most cleanest supplement brand on the market. I’m so happy that this was one of my most popular piece at my cave exhibit in Creede. by @nickkiness

Nicholas Wade event 002
📷: @kelnsale_street

I’m very proud to say I ended the Summer season by showing my art in one of my most favorite towns.

I first saw the cave in Creede’s Mining Museum in 2021. I initially had a vision to show my art there in whatever form that may be. Since losing my mom, it’s been my mission to slam the gas on my creative endeavors. I’m expanding my style, collage, and business. I finally shifted my collage into these abstract visions I’ve been having for years. I also honored my original style of collage back in 2020 through new art. Forever grateful.

Thank you @sweetsg1rl_ for her hands in the culinary arts.
Thank you @brophmeister18 for hosting us and slinging drinks.
Thank you @kelnsale_street for the immaculate vision through your lens.
Thank you to my friends & the folks of Creede.
And thank you Mom, for being my reason. taken in Creede Underground Mining Museum by @nickkiness

“Aspen”

Number 8️⃣ in the lineup at the exhibition.

I’ll never be able to explain feeling my mom’s presence somewhere in which neither of us had been. It stops you in your tracks, forces you to be grateful and acknowledge the now. It feels unearthly, yet powerful. Some art is born from planning, others from the memory or feeling. Aspen holds a very special place in my heart now, forever. taken in Aspen, Colorado by @nickkiness

“PAHI” (25x16)
PEINI or “PAH-hee” often spelled “PAHI” — number 3 in Núu-‘apaghapi (language of the Ute tribe, specifically of the Colorado area dialect)

Number 7️⃣ • This was the creation that made the most sense out of my whole exhibition. I’m so grateful I can finally share the creative work I’m been under the past month. So much inspiration was pulled from the past 5 years of my life.

When I lived in Durango, Colorado in 2022 I was finally met with cultures I had only heard about for so long. When I think of native, primal energy my mind leads to the prime colors. The conductors for life. As I’ve moved into abstract, PAHI resembled the necessities of my psyche. All extraordinary things come from the most basic fundamental principles. taken in Durango, Colorado by @nickkiness

First big hike since I’ve been back in Colorado & lots of emotions followed. Drove out to the Sangre de Cristo range at 4am and hiked 3,000ft in 3hrs.

The Sangre de Cristo mountains have always been a challenge, but they never fall short of being absolutely breathtaking. I’ve always felt so connected to this mountain range. The last time I was romping around within them was when I soloed the Little Bear/Blanca traverse.

It’s bittersweet being here, but I’m absolutely making the most of it & I feel my mom everywherrrre. I’m seriously so grateful I have the bestest friends ever. Thanks for getting me out there @c0astal_brake ((: taken in Crestone, Colorado by @nickkiness
