Nothing felt “pre” about this pre-show for Roger Federer last night at the @usopen. Couldn’t have done it with anyone else other than @bdhenley and the incredible team @fiurproductions, including @toddnoonan steering the ship.

Also, 9-year-old Cori stole the show I love her 🥹 #usopen #tennis #Federer taken in Arthur Ashe Stadium by @nickmccarvel

🏟️ @usopen Finals Fan Fest truly is a VIBE ✨ tennis fans coming to the watch party wanting to feel a part of it… and our job is to bring the Open to life for them. @yvonneorji and I take great joy in that… serving you energy, serving looks, serving prizes and - you know - pure chaos 🫣🤣

A week ago today I had the most insane honor of being a small part of the @tennishallofame induction ceremony for Roger Federer and Mary Carillo, hosting the red carpet pre-show with my good friend @bdhenley 🎤

The show was streamed live on YouTube (link in bio) and held in front of a crowd of 5,000 in Newport. Roger, Mary and some three dozen other legends and celebs walked the carpet, an experience that was unlike anything else I’ve ever done in my career. The energy from the crowd was immense, and the show was inspiring, chaotic, fun and invigorating all at once.

10/10 recommend you come to a future Hall of Fame induction weekend. No notes! And huge congrats to Roger and Mary— two absolute legendary icons and sublime human beings. taken in International Tennis Hall of Fame by @nickmccarvel

My 11th @wimbledon and our second year with the “Access All England” BTS livestream. Truly couldn’t be more thankful for it! 56 hours live on air, 40+ guests, seven co- hosts and countless moments of bringing SW19 to life beyond the tennis court.

Thanks Paul, Georgie, Tom, Harry, David, Richard and many others who made it happen. Loved every second 🎾🎙️📺💚💜🌱 and a pleasure to experience this place another fortnight— in and out of the booth! by @nickmccarvel

Nick McCarvel @nickmccarvel , award-winning journalist known for his Olympic and tennis coverage, first knew Jason Collins as a friend, bonded by a shared love of tennis, sports, and the rhythms of competition. Nick reflects on Collins not just as a historic figure, but as a thoughtful, grounded person whose presence shaped those around him.

Jason Collins, a former NBA center who played from 2001 to 2014, became the first openly gay active NBA player when he came out in 2013. His decision expanded what visibility could look like in men’s professional sports and continues to influence athletes navigating identity today. In 2026, we remember and honor Jason as the recipient of the Glenn Burke Advocacy & Activism Award, presented by the the @sportsequalityfdn LGBTQ Sports Hall of Fame.
