A special look at the score from PRECIOUS LIGHT!

This is the track “Illuminated” off the soundtrack coming August 4th!

When discussing what we wanted the world of Precious Light to feel like, we kept coming back to the orchestra and piano. Despite having elements of sci-fi, we wanted the music, and more specifically the orchestra, to help put the audience in a place that felt like it could be real and relatable.

The Light is very much a character in this film, and we strived to have the music play a role in bringing this character to life. It’s equal parts seductive and alluring, while also being addictive and manipulative. It was a fun challenge finding that tone in the creative process.

“Precious Light” is complete & off to fest submissions. For me, this is a story about the pitfalls of obsession and ignoring the gift that is right in front of you. As a DP, this was pure joy to shoot where the “light” is an actual character in the story. Brilliantly written and directed by @nickonchemati
