There are nights that entertain you, and then there are nights that transform you.

My deepest gratitude to everyone who made this possible — the organizers who built a temporary universe for us to exist in, the artists who guided us through it, and every soul on that dancefloor who chose presence over distraction.

The music was more than sound. It felt like a language beyond words. At times the sets were so powerful I could almost feel my mind stretching, expanding into places it had never been before. There were moments when my eyes were closed, yet I could see the music unfolding in colors, shapes, emotions and memories.

For a few hours, nothing else mattered.
No status. No judgment. No past. No future.
Just people moving as one heartbeat, united by rhythm, freedom, love, inclusion, curiosity and pure human connection.

To the DJs who took us to another dimension, to the production team who turned imagination into reality, and to every beautiful stranger I shared a smile, a dance or a moment with — thank you.

Somewhere between the lights, the bass and the people, I found a piece of myself I didn't know I was looking for.

What an honor it was to dance to the music of these Titans!

I think people overestimate how hard it is to make friends at a rave.

I noticed this guy's jaw was working harder than the sound system...

...so I gave him a gum. 😂

Five seconds later we were dancing together, laughing and telling each other we loved one another like we'd known each other forever.

I don't remember his name.

I don't need to.

That's the beautiful thing about this community.

Sometimes one tiny act of kindness is enough to remind someone they're not alone.

If you've been thinking about going to a rave by yourself...

Do it.

Compliment someone's energy. Offer someone a gum. Smile first.

You'd be surprised how quickly strangers become part of your story.

The unwritten rules that keep the dancefloor what it should be: a place where everyone can lose themselves, express themselves and feel safe doing it.

Let me know what you think in the comments, I'd love to hear your thoughts or any experience good & bad that you might have had on the dancefloor.

The dancefloor gets crowded. That's part of it.

But crowded doesn't mean boundaries disappear.

Dance with people, not all over them. If someone isn't reciprocating your energy, give them some space.

Everyone deserves room to experience the music in their own way.

Bonus points if you can move through a crowd while still dancing.

Need to get somewhere? A simple “excuse me” goes a long way.

Don't bulldoze through people who are completely immersed in the music just because you want to get to the front.

We're all here to experience the same thing.

Nothing more annoying than being fully immersed in the music and in the moment and a random clubber bimbo smashes into you like it's football practice.

This one is sacred to us.

If you want to have a full conversation, step outside, go to the smoking area or find somewhere quieter.

Nobody wants to scream “WHAT?” into your ear 14 times while their favourite track is playing.

Let the people dance.

A woman dancing alone is not asking for your attention.

A woman wearing something revealing is not asking to be touched.

A woman smiling, dancing, making eye contact or simply existing near you is not consent.

If she says NO, that's the end of the conversation.

Don't follow her.
Don't keep asking.
Don't grab her.
Don't try again five minutes later.

As male ravers, I believe we have a responsibility to look out for the women around us. If you see someone being harassed, don't pretend you didn't notice. Check on her, get her friends, alert security or safely create some space for her.

We all come to raves to express ourselves freely.

She should be able to dance, dress and exist however she wants without constantly worrying about who's behind her.

Her body isn't an invitation.
Her outfit isn't an invitation.
Her dance isn't an invitation.

She came here to experience the music.

Let her.

No racism.
No homophobia.
No by @nickvelmar

It gives the parts of me that I usually keep hidden somewhere to breathe.

I didn't go looking for techno.

I found it when I was in a place where I barely recognized myself.

Then one night, something clicked.

The sound.
The darkness.
The rhythm.
Thousands of people moving as one.

For the first time in a long time, I didn't need to understand what I was feeling.

I could dance it out.

And somewhere in all that noise, I found my own frequency.

The music that made me feel like me again!

Maybe the universe wasn't trying to save me from the darkness..

Maybe it was leading me through it.

Maybe we're not searching for something new.

Maybe we're trying to find our way back to something we once felt.

That moment when the kick hits your chest, the bass takes your body, and the noise in your head finally goes quiet.

For me, that's the dancefloor.

Not an escape from life.

The moment I feel most inside it.

And maybe that's the magic of techno,

it doesn't help me find myself.
