October is a pretty big month for me and all things Gun Club.. it all starts getting serious this Friday at @thesociallondon , a venue we love (great energy / lovely people) as @humanendeavourrecs & @clubscp put on one of my favourite artists @brokenchord_ for his live uk debut at their Pleasure Unit night. If you’ve listened to any of the @thegun_club radio shows (or sets) over the years, you’ll know how highly I rate Ernestas, (Brokenchord) the albums ‘Emdless Transmisssion, Stone Island Tracks and his new one - the killer ‘Lima, Echo Crack!’ Are a benchmark in sleazy , sludgey, rhythm driven noise. When I first heard his stuff it reminded me of early days @deathinvegasmusic (I know Rich is a fan) . Bringing him over (dj set) for an August’s inaugural @anotherthought.world was a real highlight for me. Anyway! #i Will be playing before the live performance on an excellent line up that includes @rosieama @butcherboyofficial & @harryjames707 too. It’s Oversharing time of the month again, but this time it’s very much a @thegun_club family affair. My guest on tonight’s show is my long time Gun institution, nice face, and genius selection box @jcbxox. Not only that but fate has lobbed us the opportunity to really get the gang back together, as besuited, industrial loving boy wizard @dannygibbsxo is stepping in to cover Psych Milligans ‘A Path Through Haze’. So that’s four hours of Official Gun Nonsense.. the final cherry on the cake is that Danny has invited the final piece of the Gun Mgt puzzle - big chief @brown_trout_ (Thom O’farrell) to get is ever expanding wax of the world collection too. We won’t be able to move for the thick, nostalgia, Zambian disco, and low rollers with traces of ket on them. Quite literally HOURS OF FUN. We’re excited to announce that the Compton Arms is looking for our next kitchen resident. Applications are open for chefs for the very first time. Over the years, the pub kitchen has become known as a launchpad for aspiring chef talent. We’ve been lucky enough to host @fourlegs_ldn (@the.plimsoll ), @tiella_trattoria , and currently @rakelondon, each bringing their own take to the pub’s pass.  The new residency starts in January, running for 1–1.5 years. The kitchen and the pub operate as separate businesses, but we work closely together. Our team and yours build one exceptional offer for the regulars and diners who walk through the pub’s doors. We’re looking for a kitchen who’s: 
 🔄 Flexible - happy adapting to the Compton’s crowd throughout the seasons

What a day, it’s late, perhaps it’s not the time, but it’s been playing on my mind a good while now. Today we said goodbye to one of the very best, Chris Stoker. Whilst we all have an enormous glaring absence in our lives now, it was an absolutely beautiful affair. In all honesty, i can’t get my head around him simply not being here anymore. He was such an unselfish, attentive, charming bastard, that he has left us all bereft of something wonderful we are having to come to terms with losing.. we are all feeling it,but the love care and attention Sarah May and his nearest and dearest put in today, i can’t feel anything but proud of the community he has put us alll in the centre of. The applause when his hearse left the church will live with me forever. I walk away from that celebration of his life today, with a clarity that I’ve struggled to grasp these last few weeks, certainly to put into words. I will never not miss my mate, and that’s ok.. but he gave us all, and each other a collective responsibility to make our people feel special, improve every room you are in , & play as many 12 minute kraut b- sides as possible .. with a bit of cleaners from Venus thrown in for good measure.. certainly while we try to adjust to life without him. If Im feeling this level of loss, then I’ve got no idea how Sarah May and his family sre dealing with it right now. I hope we can be the friends they need, both now and in the future .. it is always tougher after the goodbye. In short, what im trying to say is that today was a wonderful homage to incredible bloke, and it was as amazing anything that sad actually can be. I’ll never forget it either - till we meet again. 💔 Love you man x by @nickvstephens
