On a serious note, Pennsylvania Avenue was closed to pedestrians at various times from 2019 to 2021. In June 2020 and January 2021 the entire federal core of the city was a frozen zone.

It is a great asset to our democracy and republic when citizens and visitors can walk freely among these buildings and avenues of power where so many great decisions and history are made.
