Story time…

We’re in Bali, and two days ago he casually told me to pack a bag.
No context, no details.
Just: small suitcase, airy clothes, two nice dresses, swimwear, and hiking shoes.

Did I listen? Absolutely not 🤭
I overpacked like my life depended on it because I wanted to be ready for every scenario.

When we arrived, it felt unreal.
The view, the silence, the way the air smelled…
Everything felt like a dream.

I started unpacking when he called me to the bedroom and revealed a hidden tunnel that led to the most breathtaking bathroom I’ve ever seen in my life 🤩

My reaction in the reel says it all. I had no idea.
I thought the getaway was the surprise… until he opened a trap door beside our bed I didn’t even know existed.

Some surprises feel like moments you’ll remember forever.
Moments that make you stop, look around, and realise how lucky you are to be here, with this person, in this exact chapter of life 🥰

This place is beyond anything I ever imagined.
And so is this feeling.

Thank you @iam_alexiskaspar for making me the happiest girl alive ❤️

I started over from scratch. I quit my successful business, left everything behind, and moved here.
No stability, no guarantees—just a vision and a lot of challenges along the way.

It took me a while to figure out what I really wanted to do here. I gave myself time to explore, try different things, and get to know myself again—without everything I was attached to in Belgium. But I’m proud of where I am now and so excited for the future 🫶🏻

Here’s what I’ve learned after 1.5 years living in Dubai:

✨ Making genuine, long-lasting connections isn’t easy. Networking is effortless, but most interactions stay surface-level. Finding your real circle takes time.

✨ Dubai can be a LOT for an introvert like me. I’m super social, but I recharge in quiet environments. Luckily, there are peaceful spots where I can completely disconnect.

✨ Pretty privilege is real. Free dinners, sponsored experiences, beauty treatments… say what you want, but it’s a reality here.

✨ Dubai has raised my standards. The quality of life & customer service here is next level—traveling elsewhere just doesn’t compare.

✨ FOMO in the beginning is real. I used to be out constantly trying to experience it all. Now? I LOVE my chilled lifestyle at home.

✨ Waking up to sunshine every day is an absolute mood booster. There’s no way back to grey skies.

✨ Same-day delivery (or even within 30 minutes) has completely ruined my patience. If it’s not arriving today, I don’t want it 😂

✨ The guilt of leaving your family and friends behind never gets better. Missing out on birthdays, milestones, and everyday moments is tough, and the time difference plus different lifestyles make it even harder to stay truly connected.

✨ Because we have EVERYTHING here, I feel way less like traveling. When you already live in the perfect place, why escape?

✨ There’s not a single chance I’d ever move back to my home country. The lifestyle, safety, freedom & opportunities in Dubai? Unmatched.

Love this trend! 🤍

I have never claimed otherwise x

📍 @zem.altea is more my vibe. by @nickycanters

Everyone in Dubai does the same Euro summer: Mykonos, the South of France, the Amalfi coast.
I do them too. But there is one stop that is non-negotiable every single year, and almost nobody I know has heard of it…

✨ ALTEA ✨

I’ve been coming here since I was a baby, almost every school holiday, to our family holiday home.
My grandparents moved here when I was 16, and my grandfather still lives here.

Since I moved to Dubai three years ago I only get here once a year, which made me appreciate it more, not less.

White streets, a blue-domed church, bougainvillea on every wall, and that quiet old money calm this coast still has 🤍

Ten minutes from my grandparents’ house sits @zem.altea, a wellness clinic specialised in longevity.
We’ve been their ambassadors with @itstherobelife since last year, and after seven years running my own skin clinic, it still feels like the most natural full circle.

For more information about @zem.altea and a complimentary upgrade on me, comment “ZEM” and I send you all information for your perfect reset 🧖🏻‍♀️

Save Altea for next summer’s planning. by @nickycanters

Happy 3rd Dubai anniversary to me 🥂

3 years ago today I landed in Dubai. This time to stay.

A little story…
January 2023. I was sitting on the balcony of my Airbnb in Dubai, looking at the skyline, and I thought: I need to find a way to be here more. On the flight home I cried. Not because something was wrong at home. My business was doing better than ever and on paper I had everything. That was exactly the problem. I had built a successful life, not a fulfilling one.

On the 10th of October I boarded the flight without a return ticket.
So I did the thing everyone talks about and almost nobody does. I chose a life that felt like mine over a life that looked good.

It was not easy. It was lonely at times. It took longer than I wanted. But I never once regretted it, not even on the hard days. Because the hard days in a life you chose feel completely different from the hard days in a life you settled for.

If there is one thing these 3 years taught me: trust your gut, not the room. The people who doubt you are usually describing their own fear, not your future. And you don’t need the whole plan. You need one decision, and the courage to not turn back.

You are allowed to want more. You are allowed to leave something good for something that feels right. And you don’t have to wait for anyone to come with you 🙏🏻

Save this for the day you need to hear it again.
And tell me: what is the decision you keep postponing? by @nickycanters

.. and it feels like walking through a real life fairytale.

The canals, the cobblestone streets, the historic buildings and the prettiest little corners everywhere you look. Bruges really has something magical ✨

I’m actually Belgian and had been to Bruges several times before moving abroad, but when I spent a week back in Belgium this summer, I knew I wanted to include it in our plans again.

Living in Dubai has definitely made me appreciate places filled with centuries of history even more. There’s just something about old buildings, cobblestone streets and places that have so many stories to tell!

Save Bruges for your next European trip!
It’s also magical around Christmas time 😍 by @nickycanters

Old school love still exists. I know, because I live it.

The kind where he walks on the side closest to the traffic without thinking about it. Where the door is always held, the jacket always offered, and my comfort comes first before I even mention it.

No grand gestures for the camera. Just small, consistent effort. Every single day.

In a world of apps, quick replies and zero effort, this is the real flex. Being chosen on purpose, every day, not just once. Being protected quietly, in the small moments nobody sees. Being cared for in ways that never need an audience. Being the only one, and knowing it, because he shows me every day that this is for life.

Don’t settle for less than this. It’s out there 🤍 by @nickycanters

Durbuy, aka the smallest village in the world 🏰

One of Belgium’s hidden gems! It feels like stepping into a fairytale, and every corner is beautiful.

Staying here while going to the F1 in Spa was truly the best decision ever 😍 by @nickycanters

F1 is back, so it’s legal to post these now 🏁

Saved these from Spa-Francorchamps all summer break for this exact moment.

So first of all let’s settle this: Spa is the best circuit on the calendar. Eau Rouge in real life is something no broadcast can capture. Immediate goosebumps! And the fact it’s in the middle of a forest 🥹
I might be biased, it’s my home race. But am I wrong?

Drop your favorite circuit below 👇🏻 (wrong answers accepted x)

Most people don’t know this, but before Dubai I owned a skin clinic in Belgium for 9 years. I’ve seen thousands of skins up close, and it made me extremely picky about what actually earns a spot on my shelf.

This is my simplified travel routine ✈️
When I’m traveling I always skip the aggressive ingredients, because actives combined with sun exposure and lots of flying is exactly how you damage your skin barrier instead of helping it. While traveling my focus is simple: hydration and repair. That’s it.

I used to overthink everything I posted. What will people think? Is this too much? Not enough?

Then I realized: the people judging me were never going to support me anyway. And the people inspired by me? They were waiting for me to keep going.

So I kept showing up. And that one decision brought me opportunities and collaborations I used to only dream about.

It’s 2026. You can spend hours consuming other people’s content, comparing yourself and feeling worse with every scroll. Or you can be the one creating, building something that’s yours and getting paid for it.

Same phone. Same hours. Completely different life.

So do your thing, girl. The only difference between you and the people you admire is that they started. by @nickycanters
