After a few weeks of reflecting and grieving the loss of my Grammy I find myself resting at the mercy of the Lord.

To my Pa, Grammy loved you so much. She was so proud of the 50 years you spent together. Every time we visited she pulled out the wedding album and showed us year by year your love story. I’m so honored to look up to you and Grammy as I enter into the next chapter of my life. You two are the best love story ever. I’ll never get tired of hearing it.

The only thing that finds me peace is knowing I am not in control and that the God that died for my sins and delivered his children from evil.

Romans 5: 1-5 says
”Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.“

I wish so badly I could tell her just what an impact she had on my life. What I would do to hear her flip flops echo in the house or get one more tic tac from her. Play old maid one more time. Even though we bent the old maid card so Grammy always got it. To watch her repeat my brother’s dances and memes that make us laugh. To open the chocolate milk for her to pour for my brothers. To hear the sound of a light switch a million times because she had to find the perfect lighting. To go back to the day we dipped buttered popcorn in onion dip and called it an invention.

I’ll still take pictures of my bad kitty cat and wish I could send them to you.

Romans 8:39 states “”neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.“

We are living proof of a loving God and I cherish my Grammy for the faith she helped instill in me.🦢🦢 by @nickymurt
